Gotta give King Carlos props for forcing our players to opt for Europe if they want a better chance to get called up. I can understand how PGL players who want to play for Team Melli might get frustrated over this due to the fact that they want to provide for their families (personal conflicts) and not wanting to move. But in my opinion it’s fair.
The league has barely put any effort towards the progression of our football (for example: creating more fields so that we can start focusing on our youth and starting leagues so they don’t skip 2-3 years of football playing). So Carlos is pushing Iranian players to play in Europe where they have the infrastructures, the professional coaches/trainers, the facilities, more comfort and peace of mind for our players to target their objectives and progress as athletes.
Carlos Queiroz may not be the best head coach, but his love for Iranian football is real because his love for Iran and Iranians is real. He may be disliked by many inside and outside of Iran who at times (believe it or not) have valid points. But this is the man in charge at the moment and he has brought honor and prestige to our national football team which has positively reflected onto our domestic clubs, players and coaches. Carlos deserves a lot of credit in my honest opinion.
