This is such a subjective and vague argument. You guys have differing opinions, stop trying to convince others of what you believe. You could technically both be correct. There is no objectively correct answer. We haven't seen Dejagah play at a high level in a while. Could go one way or another.

Can you elaborate on this wild statement please. He literally didn't play any game in the Bundesliga this season due to injury, so based on what can you compare him to other midfielders?!

There's no objectivity but the general consensus is inevitably that he isn't. Har kas in kos o sher hayeh Frank Ocean mitoneh begeh va esrar koneh "opinionam hast". Dejagah is obviously not better than most midfielders of the 2nd/3rd best league in Europe.

Not only are you delusional but so are all those giving you likes. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to think Ashkan is better than most BL midfielder but common! He is past his prime out of form even at his best he would be at par with the midfielders in that league. Be realistic please.

I wouldn't say he is better than most Bundesliga Midfielders, but I do understand Frank Ocean's point. Dejagah is one of the more common household names in the Bundesliga ever since his time with Wolfsburg during his first stint with the team. Yes, he's*out of shape and getting older, but he's still one of the smartest and most internationally experienced midfielders in the Bundesliga.

I think after the last three months training with wolfsburg he is in shape. he showed it in the youth team games with multiple goals. He just needs regular playing time in bundesliga to get back to full match fitness.

Most BuLi midfielders will never win a title. Guess what Ashkan did tho

Ok enough trolling. He's still good enough to play in the Bundesliga as a sub or as a player for the first 60 minutes. Better than most probably not, but Bundesliga is a real back and forth game which ends up making it a young mans game.

Just look at how many midfielders they have in the 20-24 range throughout the league.

Translation: Thos who speak out of their ass are those who do not understand why a player like Dejagah returns to Wolfsburg.

Some of you bumbling idiots almost always jump to conclusion about a majority of PFDC topics without thinking first.

Ashkan Dejagah is a veteran of the Bundesliga. He is also a veteran of Wolfsburg and is "mahboob" (meaning he is loved and respected by the fans of Wolfsburg). He has YEARS of EXPERIENCE playing in the Bundesliga. So before you dumbasses argue as to if he's better or not better than the young RM/RW of Bundesliga, look at WHY he was signed again by Wolfsburg and try to open your minds and consider that there are many reasons.

Here is a simple example: Do you remember why Ali Karimi was invited to Schalke back in 2011? Why did Felix Magath invited Ali Karimi? Why? Because although Ali had and has his troubled mind and has a temper, he is EXPERIENCED and relatively familiar with the German footballing system. Not to mention that at the time, he WAS NOT an expensive player to purchase.

Just as Karimi, Ashkan Dejagah went back to his old team as a veteran champion of the club. He went to help a relegating Wolfsburg NOT just by playing games for them. Of course he is a quality player and eventually when he is in form he will return to the first team. He is there as moral support, to boost the players confidence, to give them advice and share his experience with them. If you ask me, this was a smart decision by Wolfsburg to sign Dejagah.

Ashkan is also a player of the Iranian National Football player. If you think that Wolfsburg doesn't see value in signing a former World Cup player and possibly a cuter (2018) player, you my friend are a dumbass. And don't give me that bullshit "Ohhh Iran sucks man, we can't even go out of our group, why do you think they find value in Dejagah. He's a has been!" No you ding dong, there IS value in a player like Ashkan Dejagah.

So before you go on and spew horseshit, making comparisons, THINK first.

Edit: I know Ali Karimi didn't win a championship with Schalke. I meant the other examples to make my point.

                    Before I get mauled lol.

Big relegation matchup for Wolfsburg as they travel to Hamburg.

*Wolfsburg coach has split the team into two groups which have been traning. Ashkan has been placed in the second group with players who have been injured and bench warmers to see who can assist in this clutch match.

What a terrible time for an injury man... hope he has recovered, and makes an amazing appearance for his club.

Looks like Ashkan will most likely not feature in the match against Hamburg:

"Wolfsburg's coach Andries Jonker has removed four professionals from his squad on Tuesday. Ashkan Dejagah, Christian Träsch, Paul Seguin and Borja Mayoral have to train in their own group."

Not weird considering he's just coming back from injury and would be idiotic to throw him in the fire in a game where everything is at stake to avoid relegation. Besides Ashkan, Träsch is a also a fringe utility player that has been in the club a long time, plus youngsters like Seguin and loanee Mayoral. These are not the players to play in this sort of game. I believe Ashkan would've at least seen the bench if he had not injured himself or had some games under his belt and proven he fits the system prior to this.

As some of us have said before - I think Dejagah has been trying to save his knees for one more World Cup and then retire or go somewhere he can make even more money.

The question remains if Dejagah can even play a World Cup match, since the high intensity and weeks, even months of preparation before it starts.

I will get a lot of hate for this, but I doubt it would benefit TM to take Dejagah with us to Russia since he does not last longer dan 60 minutes and is very injury prone. When was the last time Ashkan played in a highly competitive match?

He hasn't even played a notable role during our current WCQ which says a lot. Can't remember him outstanding. Taremi, Jahanbakhsh were all better than him.

Based on this season I want Jahanbakhsh to start over Dejagah during the World Cup, and rightfully so, over the right wing.

Maybe Dejagah can be brought on as joker during the last 20 minutes of the game.
