More bad news.
Ashkan pulled his hamstring and will be out for 3-4 weeks. The Qatar game is in exactly one month.

I was thinking about the Qatar game today and was excited that maybe Qatar would play a more open game and not go for a tie since they are basically eliminated if they cannot beat us.
Then I remembered who we are playing. They would rather tie us in the hopes of hurting our qualification chances, than try to win the keep the slim chance that they qualify or play-off. It's going to be a horrible game. Loud speaker singing the #1 Qatari song for 5 years running "leleleeelleleeell" by Al Koolani Al Wahda Bin Salaam, the greatest all time Qatari singer. Known all over the... Qatar. So excited for that. The park bussing + their goalie making goal line stops like Manuel Neuer will be fun.
Even though Uzbeks and Koreans are much more threatening opposition, I dread playing Qatar more. With or without Dejagah, it will be a frustrating match. They will go out of their way for a tie, because they know that an open game = 2 from Sardar.

Fak
Besides the obvious lure of big $$$s, being somewhat injury prone & not coping all too well with the high intensity of the EU training regimen is another reason Ashkan decided to cash in sooner on his career's income potential.
He missed a bunch of games @ Fulham too due to frequent knocks n bruises...!
He always plays like a beast vs Gutter every time too..! Very disappointing
I hope it's not as serious & he bounces back sooner than these early reports indicate.

I kind of doubt it! Rafiei might get subbed in but I doubt he will start ahead if Masoud in such an important game.

I'm saying if we beat Qatar with the lineup we fielded then we shouldnt worry now. We played Beikzadeh in Korea and somehow won. If we stay organized we can win.
As for Qatars psyche who knows. I think some of their players are pissed Esteghlal kicked them out of ACL. If CQ has done anything in Iran its teach TM how to deal with Qatari tactics.
Different note, its been a while since Qatars goalies have been good against us. Asian cup, Qassem Borhan was atrocious and in Tehran Amin Lecomte handed us a goal.Last edited by perspolis#1; 02-20-2017, 04:10 PM.
