Dejagah has returned to training with the reserves:

"Ashkan Dejagah: Team training with the reservists
    24.04.2017

Is the second commitment of Ashkan Dejagah at the VfL Wolfsburg without a single bet? In this season, it will be gradually tight for the stand now only to summer bound offenders. At first, the winter newcomer was not allowed to interfere due to lack of permission to play. In the middle of February, he was forced to break because of injuries (muscle fiber tear, straining).

Meanwhile Dejagah on the training ground is finally back in the circle of the team: On Sunday, he practiced together with the players, who had been used on Saturday against Berlin only briefly or not at all. Even if a few days are still, the upcoming Bundesliga match with FC Bayern (Saturday, 6:30 pm) will definitely be too early for the 30-year-old. Compared to other players, such as Paul-Georges Ntep or Ricardo Rodriguez, Dejagah is still "a little stifled", according to trainer Andries Jonker, according to Wolfsburger Allgemein."

Ashkan will not feature against Bayern this weekend. However, it is mentioned that he may start for the regional league squad this weekend:

        "Dejagah comeback?

In the regional league goalkeeper Max Grün and midfielder Justin Möbius are to be given a game play on Saturday, and a long-awaited comeback could come: Ashkan Dejagah, 2009 champion, is facing his first VfL assignment since his return in winter. The 30-year-old was out of action in the past weeks because of a muscle-fiber in his calf."

" In the regional league team, at least Ashkan Dejagah, who had been knocked out in the last weeks by a muscle fist in the calf, could celebrate his first season."

Ashkan played 90 minutes yesterday for Wolfsburg II in their 3-0 victory. Not sure if he was involved in any goals.

They lost 6-0 to Bayern, i think this is somehow Mehdi Taremi's fault.

Will he ever play a game with Wolfs, the season is almost over. So how is his contract situation? Until the end of the season with option to extend? Not sure when you don't play you get the chance to get an extension.

Dejagah started the match with Wolfsburg U23 and was subbed out at the half:

"Wolfsburg: Dejagah is making a comeback

Ashkan Dejagah from VfL Wolfsburg has celebrated his comeback to the reserve of the wolves on Saturday after a long break. In the 3: 0 success of the U23 against SV Eichede, the 30-year-old was in the initial formation, rather he was replaced at half time.

In the past winter transfer period, the midfielder has switched from the Al-Arabi Sports Club from Qatar to the Autostadt. Shortly after his change, however, the German-Iranian fell out with a muscle-fiber crack. For the pros, the new entry thus still could not complete an assignment. Dejagah's contract with the Lower Saxony runs out at the end of the current season."

How was he allowed to play for the U23 team?

Dejagah is still a professional player compared to what many of us might think. His CV is insane having played in England, Germany, and being part of the German National Youth teams gives hims the edge, considering the U21 (Champions) team he was a part of are filled with many bright stars that we see today (Neuer, Howedes, Boateng, Ozil, Khedira, and many more). He shouldn't have an issue landing himself on a another German team or any other professional team.

up to three senior players are allowed to play ( rule designed to give injured players a chance to regain match fitness)

Dejagah running 45 minutes in a Wolfsburg game means he is 90 minute fit for Lige Bartar.

Dejagah featured for Wolfsburg II again today in their 1:1 draw with Hansa Lüneburg:

*Dejagah started the match and was subbed out on the 68th min.

Based on this German source (Which requires a subscription), Ashkan is still not match fit to rejoin the first team:

                          "Dejagah is still not fit
This is the realization of the 1: 1 of the VfL II in the football regionalliga against Lüneburg."

I hope Wolfsburg does not relegate and extends Ashkans contract!

Due to injury to midfielder Yunus Malli, there is a chance Ashkan might feature for Wolfsburg's match against Frankfurt. The below also mentions he has scored twice for the U23 squad:

                              "Seasonal rental for Dejagah?

Alternatives needed the VfL coach but also in the midfield, where Yunus Malli will probably not play because of a rib injury. Malli's bad luck could be a blessing for Ashkan Dejagah. The German-Iranian, who had returned to the "Wolves" in the winter surprisingly , had his muscle fiber ripped out and could now come a comeback four and a half years after his farewell from the Bundesliga. "I am very happy that Ashkan Dejagah is back on the pitch and was able to score twice for our U23", Jonker did not rule out the popularity of the audience (nickname "Ashes") in Frankfurt. Dejagah's Wolfsburg record against Eintracht would be an argument: in five games he scored two goals."

Why not? 2nd Bundesliga is pretty decent and on his age more than i hoped for (certainly after his Arab contract!)
Iran deserves better, TM deserves better.
