    He looked quite rusty tbh

    Comment

You can tell his mind is sharp but his body isn't.

Its like watching a 40 year old dude who was a beast in his 20's. Mentally he can play quick but his body wont let him....ouch

More over reactions , nothing new here folks. Dejagah is as fit as the rest of the team or else he wouldn't be allowed in. Yes, he was rusty which is understandable given he hasn't played a bundesliga game in 5 years. He just needs game time and he will be back. He looked fit, just a couple times he gave the ball away ( passes intercepted) . Played 10 mins

At least he finally made his debut for Wolfsburg. Let's hold on to that.

Ashkhan played 8 minutes and didn't score a hatrick? Iranian football is doomed.

I truly do not understand the expectations and general negativity of some members here. Obviously we shouldn't be jumping for joy that he finally played, but making cynical judgements about his state as a player after 8 minutes of play at a high level after years of qatari shit, is pathetic. The man just got back in shape, and obviously the coach recognizes his quality and experience or else he wouldn't play him in the last 10 minutes of the biggest game of their season, when they are only holding a slender lead.

"3 things that were noticed during the relegation match between the VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Braunschweig

                  3. Emotional Dejagah comeback

On August 25, 2012, Ashkan Dejagah finished last in a mandatory match for VfL Wolfsburg. 1734 days later, he was substituted in front of a home crowd in the 83rd minute in a high-profile game and made his comeback, for which some difficulties had to be overcome.

After his change from the Al-Arabi Club back to Wolfsburg, the missing player's approval prevented the former Iranian from helping the "wolves" earlier. When it finally gave the green light from FIFA, the midfielder injured in the training. Because of a muscle-fiber break he fell nine Bundesliga clubs, did not make it into the squad in the last four games."

                  "Dejagah returns

...There was then a raucous reception for Ashkan Dejagah, making his first appearance for VfL since returning to the club in the winter. 'Asche' replaced the ever-active Didavi and helped the Green-Whites to an important 1-0 win with his masses of experience. "

"22:09 clock: "Ashes" is back. Jonker takes Dejagah for Didavi . For him it is the first professional bet since his return in January. The VfL fans like this, especially since their team's result "sovereignly managed". All officials clearly."

"There was something out of the game. The fan camps continued to be very loud, especially when Ashkan Dejagah was substituted for Didavi (82). "

Just found a post match interview of Wolfsburg´s coach where he has some words for Ashkan.
Go to minute 5.00 (Interview is in German)
                        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaRwwe3TYQ0
The interviewer was asking the coach what intention he had by subbing in Ashkan. Jonker said that he wanted to calm the game down and keep ball possession. According to the coach Ashkan is a player who is able to do that, as he has a lot of experience. Furthermore Ashkan is becoming better and better with each day and training. He might become as good as he used to be.
The reporter asked also what level Ashkan currently has. Jonker replied that Ashkan is now able to play along again.
Last question was about Ashkan´s character and his role in the team. Jonker said in reply that Ashkan is highly valued among his teammates and that the fans love him a lot...

Man, he played for 10 minutes and you all are reviewing him saying he's rusty etc.? Come on, this is a relegation battle and he was brought on after an injury, what else do you need to know that he's a hard worker and clearly does well? Else he wouldn't be in the team ...

disregard everything the coach says. Over dramatic pfdc members know much more than him

Dejagah is not a number 10, he's a winger. The best options for the CAM position are Rafiei, Shojaei and Shekari.
