No need to worry, Ghoddos can replace him if CQ invites him

He became completely washed up in qatar unfortunately. When his old club couldnt even offer him a cheap one year deal as a backup, you know its bad. I don't expect for him to start in the world cup. Sad. Along with queiroz, he was very important in the transition to the team melli we have today.

Idk why but I feel like Ashkan's still gonna be huge for us in the WC... He's always been a good club player, but hes a different animal with the Team Melli badge on.

i fear he will loose his WC spot if he remains club-less for much longer...!
as is he is probably gonna be at best a bench or limited time player for TM..! if Ghoddos joins that will make much harder for his TM WC chances, somewhat same for the still domestic league playing Taremi .!

hopefully he will reach a short term agreement with an EU team soon, but fear he is gonna leave it late before coming to terms with one..!!

I'm sure he has decent offers from decent-good leagues. Probably Greece, bundesliga, some others. I think it's a matter of him being a somewhat key part of the team and not riding the bench like he did at the end of the season with Wolfsburg. I highly doubt money is an issue for him as he made a ton in Qatar and it will likely be a short term deal anyways .

Dejagah has been an incredible servant to TM and gave us life in our darkest days. We owe him some faith in his abilities.

This applies more to Ghoochannejhad tbh, Dejagah was injured / not available in our most crucial games past few years

He will find a club. In my view, he is probably trying to maximize the likelihood of getting a european offer right now before looking at offers from Iran like PP/SS etc

The Dejagah of 2008 was an absolute beast. In fact, we never really saw peak-Ashkan since he started for Iran (four years later) because when Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga he was a complete animal.

The guy at the moment has no fitness and a lot of his best traits have slipped over time.

I genuinely don't think he has a role any more for TM because his pace, acceleration and general fitness is nothing compared to before and it is always better in the long-term to blood younger players. He might have one or two good performances in 20 but I would prefer for other players to get opportunities now.

If he gives us one good game like he did versus Argentina I say he's still beneficial to TM. The problem is he's fighting against time. He's had years of injuries and is looking for a situation where he can keep his form long enough to play one more World Cup and then retire.
He gives it his best for TM always and while sometimes his physical condition doesn't let him play his best but he loves TM so I wish him the best.

I don't think he was the starter in majority of the games for that Wolfs team which won the cup, i can be wrong though!

Askhan named to Blid's best of the unemployed starting XI team for this transfer season...hopefully that bodes well!:

Ashkan Dejagah (31, most recently Wolfsburg)
In January "Ashes" returned from Wüsten-Klub Al-Arabi to Wolfsburg should help in the descent. However, a muscle fracture led to two short inserts only in the relegation.
Whether and where Dejagah continues to play is open. Sportchef Rebbe had indicated that the Iranian could return to Wolfsburg after the end of the career: "We wish him all the best in his future career path and hope that we will be able to welcome him back to VfL after his active career."
