Below an article in german which explains this.

As you have such a huge concept in this issue, it will be for sure no problem for you to show an evidence which proves that signings after January are possible.
I haven’t found anything.

Everyday that passes by is another day he coulda been spending instead integrating & adapting himself to his new club & that much closer to actually getting Official game minutes after the break ..!
If he waits till last day of Jan. That’ll likely mean about another month or more pissed away in likely intense training trying to become game ready for his new team..! & for all we know probably get himself injured again in training (trying to go from zero to 100 too quickly) like he did his second spell @ Wolves, then if lucky barely recover to make a few league appreances & Wc ..!?

Joining a Greek team? It is probably his most logical option:

If he really declined an Olympiakos offering stays without a team before the WC than I have to really say (despite all the love) he should not be invited to TM just to send a signal to everyone that laziness has no place in TM. btw. also Taremi should not be invited to send a signal that any Qatar or UAE move for money purposes is not tolerated. instead all Europe based players working their butts off in Belgium Netherlands and Greece should be invited without a doubt!

I think the whole Greece rumors are BS. His old pal Patrik Ebert just joined Ingolstadt after being a free agent. But tbh, I’ve pretty much lost all hope for Ashkan, he is a great player but I think his manager is doing a shit of a job. I mean 6months until the World Cup and I cant even remember Ashkans last game ( and I’m not counting his 5min vs Braunschweig).
I’m guessing he’ll retire after the WC , I really don’t see the point of this, hopefullly he proves me wrong
