Its not even about size. Yeah sure Arabs wil get an edge if they load the team with Africans and Europeans but defending a set piece is all tactics.

Barcelona does it fine when defending Bayern on corners and theres a solid height differential there.

Branko is the second half conceding guy and CQ is the guy who gets goals in the second half.

Ali Ansarian hit the nail on top of the head on the post match interview.

What a gheyrati Iranian he is, Ansarian. Respect to this man. Even though he comes across as a middle aged soosool, I still respect his love and devotion for Persepolis and Iranian football.

To sum up what he said, he expressed his admiration for Persepolis players who fought hard and performed better against a very fit and strong Al Hilal.

He believes that Persepolis is playing beautiful football and will make it out of this group, even though they are in the most difficult group.

He showed concern regarding the club's budget. You could really here the "boghz" in his voice when he was eye to eye with Taheri. He knows that Taheri is just another goon puppet and takes orders. But the fact that they sat Ansarian in front of the Chairman spoke volumes.

He said our whole club is worth (money wise not quality) less than 3 foreign players of Al Hilal. That Persepolis deserve better. They are playing good football and should be paid well and taken care of. Kudos to Ansarian. I liked this post match interview.

Rashid Mazaheri was really good today MOTM imo. With Beiranvand's current form don't be surprised if CQ picks Mazaheri as GK vs Qatar and China.

Here is the difference between Iranian clubs and TM.

Iranian clubs= moan about budget, if they get a draw they say the other team has 25 million dollars worth of players and we have 0, so this was a good result.

TM= disciplined, motivated, made up of players who work hard and try to be the 25 million dollar player. Not to mention a coach that has the same limitations as our clubs, but has actually done something about it.
If we keep moaning about budget and are happy with the results we get because we get 0 budget, then we will never be professional.

We are supposed to be Asia's best team. That is like saying Man Utd is celebrating a tie against Real Madrid, because well...their budget is less and they have a billion dollar budget.

You should have seen the post match show on IRIB.

Who is this clown that they bring in to try and get supporters of the club to send money? He is the worst presenter.

All he did was compare budgets and said if the Arab countries gave their budgets to Iran, we would beat them 6-0.

Then he said....fans of PP please send a text to 3090 to support your club with 6000T (2 dollars).

Beiranvand ever since his come back from injury has been absolutely bad, nothing close to what he used to be. I hope TM will have a better number 1 option by then, or at least he finds his good old form once again.

Mazaheri has been absolutely superb vs Al Ain and kept ZA in the game with couple of decisive saves.

He is currently close 2nd choice keeper in TM imo

He deserves the starting job IMO - shining a whole lot more than beiro this year.

Mazaheri is good, but inconsistent. He conceded 7 goals in the last three league games.

On another note, this game was basically Iran - Saudi Arabia. Both clubs had 7 NT players invited to the last camp.

Oh man don't even get me started on that Bazari guy. Everything about him is annoying, his tone, his bazari style of talking, his cheap presentation. Not to mention the bizarrely entrance of him during pre and post/match commentaries. This guy and that segment does not belong to these shows. It kills the whole spirit!
