    Football and religion

Rajabzadeh's religious slogan has caused another controversy against Iranian teams. AFC led by arabs will certainly take some action against us.

Why can't some players or spectators keep religion out of the football match?

FIFA clearly prohibits the religious manifestations in football, but it seems that there's no enforcement.

Yes, everyone is entitled to have their own belief, but please keep it to yourself, for God's sake!

Honestly, if its not hurting or targeting anyone - I could care less.
Most footballers from around the world come from religious families. Its bound to happen.

Religion is a joke, I can't believe people still follow these cults.

If a player wears anything with any sort of religious icon on it they should be banned for a good while. Like that clown Rajabzadeh. Have you seen Sunni arabs or even Saudis pull some BS like having an under shirt with Omar's name on it for example. We consider ourselves so above these guys yet we act so backwards

Dude, they have teams with names like Al-Qadissiya. That in itself is a fascist and warmonger name. Please don't pull this "well we're even worse" crap.

That has nothing to do with the battle of Qadisiyah unless you can prove it does. Qadisiyah is a noun and is also a province in Iraq. There is a university in Iraq with that name. Does it mean that even Iraq's are trolling us about that battle?

yes its a point of pride for them. Yet we had to change a club name from AbuMuslim to Siahjamegan so some people wouldn't get offended.

The reason they changed the name from Abumoslem was because of akhoond alam-al-hoda who is Mashahd's emam jomeh. He said that Abumoslem is a disgrace to Islam and the name has to change. not sure what you have been reading!

well, Al Ahli means "national" if I'm not wrong, can you tell us the meaning of Qadisiyah? As far as I know, it's simply a region in current day Iraq where a well known battle took place between Arabs and Iranians

it comes from the word Al Ghades which means grand or "azim" it is also a region near Kuwait in Iraq. Cadiz is Spain was also called Ghades. I am not sure where you get that information that the name of this team was in fact chosen as a reference to the battle of Qadisiah?

Football players have jesus and cross tattoos all over their body and no one here loses their shit but if a couple of iranian people want to pray or wear a t-shirt under neath their jersey with religious stuff people go ballistic.

If that's what makes them happy let them be man. So many of you guys don't know what the true meaning of liberty and freedom is.
