I watched SS match up to min 68. SS had nothing to offer and Locomotiv was playing at the same level in first half. Rahmati was lucky that he didn't receive a goal in min 14/15 when he slipped on the floor and the Uzbak player missed an empty goal. SS can not go far in ACL with this tactic, I hope they change their game plan fundamentally.

Here's an interview with Branko in French.

His words about the Iranian league:

"Many people in Europe think that the league here is weak and savage/disorganized. We are far from that. The league is serious and there are many good players. A Spanish player was on trial here today however he didn't have the required level. Those that think that it will be easy here are mistaking. The level here is better than in Croatia for example.

The derby is impressive, at the level of Barcelona vs Real. It's one thing to love his club, it's another thing to dedicate his life to the club, think about his club at breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is how they are here.

Here, it's more important to win the derby than become champion. The atmosphere is similar, the biggest difference is that there is no violence here. People are respectful. Before, you could not go to Zagreb with a car from Split, here there is no problem. People come one night before the match and there is no problem. It's more polite here"

He also speaks about Azmoun and says he has the potential to become as good as Ali Daei. Speaks about why some Iranian players don't find it as interesting to go to Europe nowadays since the good players can earn high salaries (400,000 dollars)

LOL at the bold sentence. If the league was that good we would be in ACL finals every year.

He speaks the truth, the reason why we dont win ACL is that our teams get depleted by the time they reach it or get the knock out stage, we dont have the necessary consistency but I can assure you since the advent of Foreign coaches and foreign trained domestice coaches our football has risen from the ashes and has become semi decent, and it will only get better with time, people like BRANKO, CIRO, CQ, Daee, Mansourian, GOl MO, and M.Kia have enhanced the profile and level of our football, wait till Hashemian, Nekounam and the rest come on board, we will only get better when we shed the garbage( M. kohan, Marfavi, Jalali, Derakhshan) are a few example) of the past!..

I give some credit to Jalali. He is the only guy from older generation traditional coaches that actually knows something about coaching.

Can somebody please explain why our commentators still can't get Bengtsons name right after 2 years in Iran?

Since when is 'Bengt-son' (Scandinavian etymology) pronounced 'Beng-stone' (British sounding as Johnstone or whatever).

Mehdi Rahmati set record with clean sheets in Asian Champions League with 17, today.

                      Congrats to him.

The guy is by far the best keeper in Iran(and that sadly says a lot about the quality of the rest tbh),despite few weakness here and there, specially on cross balls. Too bad he has a big attitude problem!

Disciplinary issues. Got into a fight with Alipour before the game vs Al Wahda and then threw a hissy fit and refused to go back to Tehran, when he was expelled.
                              He is practicing with TM.

Since the beginning of the season, he's had tension with Branko. He needs to leave. I wish he tries his luck in Europe.
