It's never too early to predict our starting XI for our game against China. I expect CQ to change some things up and give some players breaks while simultaneously trying to throw off Marco Lippi Here's my prediction:

As someone wrote in the other thread, time to give Gucci some chinese! Last WCQ he was the man to qualify us, would be beautiful to see that again his goals bring us sweet 3 points, being only 1 step away from the World Cup.

This is a tough not only because nobody ever predicted a formation right here in recent times (and evertime what CQ came up with turned out to be way better), but also because there are too many players who would deserve to start.

1. Basically we could start with the same 11 like against Qatar, but it's hard to believe that CQ is not going to use players like Hosseini or Gucci.
2. In defense I could see Rezaeian replacing Ghafouri, but after acclimatizing himselfelf in the first half Ghafouri was excellent in the second half. Hosseini should be replacing Montazeri, but Montazeri was flawless against Qatar.
3. In midfield nobody should be replaced. Maybe we could play Shojaei as CAM and move Alireza to the right to exert pressure from the wing.
4. Upfront neither Sardar (aerial strenght needed) nor Karim (good form) should be benched. It's hard to bench Taremi after his goal, but I think he should be. Gucci deserves to start, but he would also make a great joker.

Reasoning:
- I definately would like to see Rezaiean instead of Ghafouri. With 2 defensive midfielders, we can have our RBs going forward, which he does better
- Its good to rotate Montazeri and Hosseini
- Ebrahimi is a great player, and he really calmed down the play once he came on. I think Hajsafi should only come in for LW, Omid is better as DM.
- Ansarifard is a CF position here, not a CAM. He is a great supporting striker, as seen with his speed, passing, control and dribbling. He can really help Reza, and be there for the crosses.
- Jahanbakhsh should return to the wing position
- Since we have a few defensive players out, Amiri should be on the wing to start

SUBS:
- Hajsafi for Amiri if we are ahead
- Shojaei for Ansarifard 65th minute, this will create more space for the wingers
- Azmoun for Reza in 70th minute, and we switch to more crosses

the formation is unpredictable but we have so many options and many rotations that its really hard to predict the line up. for us as supporters AND for other coaches from other teams we play against.

So ansarifard played centre mid againt qatar? Nope. Ezat and Hasafi were the two, with taremi and ansarifard fluid and alternating between playing directly next to sardar, and on the left, while ARJ stayed on the right.
