Dan Gaspar left TM coaching squad? NO, HE IS BACK!!! :)

I just noticed on wiki that the American TM Goalkeeping coach Dan Gaspar, whom I really admired, left the TM technical staff in 2017, and he was replaced with the new Portuguese Goalkeeping coach Alexander Lopez!?!

I hope it has nothing to do with the new tension between Iran and US.
Dan Gaspar was a class act and really loved Iran.

He hasn't commented on it himself which is strange it seems pretty sudden and out of the blue. I'm also a big fan of his he will really be missed. It has got to be the US-Iran tensions there is no other explanation - he is the closest and most loyal member of CQs crew since he came to Iran and the only to be with him to this point.

yes apparently CQ told him that for his own career it would be better for him to leave. TBH, that kinda makes sense. He is actually apparently very knowledgeable about coaching in general and not just GK coaching. It probably had to do with the trump ban situation a lot too. He can probably get a head / assistant coach job for a team in the mls quite easily.
Now the GK coach is some Portuguese guy, who was the GK coach for some smaller portuguese teams and some qatar/uae league teams.

this was him basically confirming hes leaving on insta. He really loves iran, the people, and culture. I thank him for his service. Our GK situation looks good right now. Beiranvand is physically a beast and at 24 still hasnt hit his prime yet. Mazaheri is one of the most consistent performers in PGPL and ACL. Akhbari has a lot of potential in terms of physique but is still very young and raw. Haghighi finally found a club in europe, and given his undoubted talent will probably leave this smaller if he plays well within the next year. Makani is playing for a very decent team in norway, Stromgodset. So basically thats a pool of 5 goalkeepers, for three spots on the list.

It doesn't make sense! In what way would Trump's administration and his laws effect him as an American citizen? Even Iranians with greencard can freely travel to the US and work there, let alone American citizens.

Something else must have happened (either personally or professionally) which made him leave. I do hope after the China game CQ will clear everything up!

anyways, he served his term faithfully/successfully and im certain with much yet-unmentioned $acrifices, and left his post without creating drama and hashie for the coaching crew left behind, and No More can be expected from a Class individual such as him..!

IR lifted all that crap after Trump couldn't get anywhere with his ban. As you remember the American wrestlers could freely come to Iran and leave. I doubt if it has anything to do with politics. I also doubt if it has anything to do with money or else why would CQ's other non-Iranian assistant stay? CQ himself wouldn't have stayed if his assistant didn't get his money! I think it must be for either personal reasons (e.g. a family member got sick and needed his presence or what ever...) or a fall out between him and someone in Iran (e.g. CQ himself) for some reason.

It's a good thing they are keeping TM calmed right before the big games, but I do hope they come with an explanation for not only his departure but also for the Iranian assistants' sudden disappearance. Hopefully 90 will cover everything after the China game.

dan gaspar might have left for the visa ban, but i dont think so, i think CQ is like fergeson, he like to rotate his coaching stuff to get new ideas and latest methods that is how alex feregeson stayed so long, CQ is following the same style.

American wrestlers didnt seek working visa but vistors visa, its different.
Also IR issued yestrday as I said, a new sanction of their own on 15 US companies.

I'm not sure how much this means anything but Gaspar just recently posted a pic in Tehran a few hours ago.....not sure if he just tagged tehran as the location or if he is actually physically there. he still never acknowledged any of the reports either so I still have an ounce of hope he isn't permanently gone!

This guy is one of the unsung heros of TM to me, he is aweome. Very glad to see him back too
