    Educational; Iran's system of play

    Salam doostan,
Hope everyone is doing ok. Have not been here for a while.

This article may help you understand Carlos 4-3-3 system of play. Just a note that he constantly switches between arrow down and arrow up version of 3 midfielders in different games.

    4-3-3, mastery of the environment

In football, the basis of all tactics is the game device. From 4-4-2 to 4-3-3, going through 3-5-2, all tactical devices aim to define the Placing the players in relation to each other and determining their fields of action. Ilosport proposes to analyze the characteristics of the device 4-3-3.

    Playing principles

The 4-3-3 is divided into two variants. On one side, the 4-3-3 with a high point and on the other the 4-3-3 with a low point. The 4-3-3 with a low point is a formation with four defenders (two central and two lateral); A low center midfielder who often plays a role as a sentinel playing in front of the defense with the mission of organizing the first raise and the game, two so-called pistons capable of projecting forward and making the link to the three attackers (Two wingers and a center-forward). This configuration requires versatile field environments (capable of defending and attacking effectively). This training generally allows better control and a better balance because the midfielders are right in the middle of the game. This system is flexible because it can be transformed into 4-4-2 if one of the wingers interposes between the Two mid-pistons and the other winger comes to lend a hand to the central striker or squarely in 4-1-4-1 in offensive phase, when the two pistons medium evolve very high to the recovery of the ball, in defensive phase when The two wingmen return to the level of the pistons to press the opposing side.

The 4-3-3 with a high point, looks like 4-2-3-1 since we have two distant midfields, having to balance the team, an axial center to organize the game, two wingers and a front -center. The difference is at the defensive level, where the first curtain consists of three players in front of the most often block the axis, when the most off-centered environments are charged to defend the sides. In a high-tip 4-3-3, attackers are less used to defend them leaving the energy needed to make the difference in the offensive phase.

    Key strengths

    - Improved control of the midfield in the offensive phase.
    - Handy system that can be transformed into 4-4-2 or 4-1-4-1.
    - Promotes high pressing.
    - Promotes creativity (attackers can alternate positions, same thing for backgrounds).
    - Facilitates the use of the entire width of the ground in attack.
    - For the 4-3-3 (low point), facilitates the passage in 4-5-1 to the loss of the ball.

    Main weaknesses

    - Risk defensively and then it releases spaces in the middle of the field (obligation to pass in 4-2-3-1 in defense for better coverage).
    - At the recovery of the ball, the team finally evolves only with an attacker since the two eccentrics, returned to defend low (always in case of evolution in 4-2-3-1 in defense).
    - Requires a lot of physical effort for the wingmen who become defensive midfielders and offensive attackers as soon as the ball is recovered.
    - Big responsibility of the midfielders to cover the free zones at the center of the game, numerous in this formation.
    - Requires corridor players capable of overflowing (increasingly rare profile).

Great to have you back Mansoor khan..!
Sounds an awful complicated system of play..! especially if players are asked to switch between the two types during the match. ..!
No wonder CQ seems reluctant to give new invitees significant game minutes & thats probably why he so highly values adequate training & preparations schedule n timing.

                  Mokhlesim BL jaan.

Yes, it can get complicated if a player is not clear on his role. It requires more dynamic from the players in midfield.
Toward the end of the game, Carlos sent Omid to change the the V form to ^ form with 2 players in low point. It did help up plug in the whole in the middle.

Yes, there is actually a link to the Utube but it is in French.

                    Correct Analysis

And that is why CQ is so stuborn in player selection for TM

he will not bring anyone to the Team unless they have the physical requirements and necessary intelligence to do what is asked of them by the coaches.

Always been a massive fan of the system and it's fair to say it is beyond proven now for us. 3-4-3 with wingbacks (see Conte's Chelsea for the best example) seems to be fast becoming the new trend and I'm sure many teams will have adopted it by 2018 (only Belgium currently come to mind) and it will be interesting to see how these two tactics play out against each-other. I can't see us ever trying it given the lack of CBs available to us.

This system has worked for Queiroz ever since World Cup. He does have so much flexibility with his system. He moves his players around to make his tactics unpredictable. I use this identical formation in my teams. It makes the defense solid, and it makes the offense agile.

We shall see if he uses V again tomorrow with Ezatollahi in lower point, or swithes to ^. He has been switching to ^ form recently whenever he has had Ashkan in the line up to play in top. Ashkan is out unless he uses Shojaei for this role.

My guess is he will either go with same
