Has anyone noticed that our set pieces are not as good as before when you compare it to WCQ of 2014 and Asian Cup 2015. Ando was fantastic with his dangerous crosses and JB has been really poor with most of his corner kicks. I would prefer Masoud to take the corner kicks just like he does with free kicks.

By far our best player was shojaei. His class was head and neck above everyone else.
1) He created so many chances for us. his passes were accurate and deadly.
2)He was a true captain. talking to the players instructing them what to do something javad did very well as well
3)Not sure why he got the yellow
4)He was working very hard and pressing, but choosing when to work hard and press and when to lay back and be like riquelme. Masood's experience and smart decision making was so evident today.
I would rate masood a 9 for this game. yes a 9 and that's because of a few poor passes, none of which caused us any problems or messed up a good goal scoring opportunity.
second I'd have to say miMo was our second best.
3rd pejman montazeri
I was disappointed in jahanbakhsh this game. so many mistakes and poor decision making. needless foul and yellow card. destroyed a great chance by holding on to the ball. A player of his caliber should not be making these mistakes. Let me be clear I am a big fan of jahanbakhsh, but have been disappointed in him the last two games, especially today
Taremi was another disappointment again. He squanders too many chances. As long as he scores he will be excused and I won't totally bash him, but he is so frustrating to watch. He doesn't understand the value of a goal scoring chance. He made two very poor decisions that wasted a good opportunity. He is our new arash borhani with the exception that he converts 1/4 or 1/5 chances where arash would be 0/6 or 0/7. I am not counting his bicycle attempt but his poor weak shot and his needless hacking of the ball where he could have passed to gucci for an easy tap in.
beiranvand scared me again once this game when he punched the ball rather than grabbing it, like the time he dropped the ball against qatar but quickly recovered. I hope he works on his butterfingers.
ezatollahi had a few very poor decisions as well. needless handball and needless dribbling that almost cost us which made carlos furious. I love his style of play but again these poor decisions against a strong team will cost us the game. I do not expect these poor decisions from a player of his quality.
ghafouri was solid but I prefer ramin to him
omid ebrahimi was solid,
gucci was making more use of the ball and did well. He knows the value of his chances and makes the most of them
all subs were the right call. azmoun worked hard but didn't really have much of a chance. He should have headed the ball on target but it was offsides anyways.
rezaian and amiri were excellent subs and did have some impact on the game.

atmosphere was incredible! Tabrik to everybody watching and at the stadium, they put on a show! Pitch looked great as well.
Mohammadi was excellent. This kid is a beast defensively and offensively. PAG and Montazeri were rocks. Ghafouri wasnt that great, I think rezaian will end up being the number one right back.
ARJ was poor, and offensively we were again not in sync. Clearly, we still need dejagah to coordinate that offense, but good news is, we can win without him, but we arent in the same flow offensively.
Thank you CQ. The iranian machine rolls on! On to Russia!

The reality is that we do have a lot of talent and we should play much better than this but I think we'll get there just in time and right now we are getting the results we need so that's all that matters.
And always think about who would ever replace CQ? Yup. The alternatives aren't too attractive at all...so patience my friend. patience.
