Has anyone noticed that our set pieces are not as good as before when you compare it to WCQ of 2014 and Asian Cup 2015. Ando was fantastic with his dangerous crosses and JB has been really poor with most of his corner kicks. I would prefer Masoud to take the corner kicks just like he does with free kicks.

Completely agree. Ando had a magic touch, either he would get assists at the most important time, or he would provide the pass before the assist. We were deadly at set pieces with him, and now with Hajsafi and Jahanbakhsh that threat is weakened. I agree, having Shojaei or Askhan when he is back take them would be better.

A coach that has no plans to attack would not have started 4 forwards in the last game and 3 today. Our low scoring is not due to lack of trying, but some poor, borderline embarrassing individual mistakes by forwards that really should do better at this level. Jahanbakhsh has had more poor games in a TM shirt than I'm personally comfortable with. Both his performances against China in this round have been abysmal. He's a major reason we didn't beat them in the first leg and also why we didn't win more comfortably today.

Despite all this and a fraction of the investments of China, Korea and Qatar we're just ONE win away from direct qualification and have been ranked first in the continent consistently for 4 years. And the credit for that goes to CQ.

I have no idea why people are expecting Lewandowski level finish from any of our players. If he finished all 3 of the chances he had, he would be playing for Barca or something. It's a weird one, once the forum turns up on a player, there is no going back Most of the chances are created by his own smart movement and play.

Watch him start the next game, because he does the job according to CQ, but reading PFDC you would think that this guy is literally the worst thing that happened to Iran. Actually you can be sure lots of people are very disappointed that he was the one that scored in both games, since it makes them look dumb afterwards



He may be frustrating to our expert forum analysts, but CQ started him now in 8 games over the last 11 ones, and he scored 2 of the most crucial goals yet in this WCQ round. I don't know, maybe, just maybe he may be doing a good job in the ex-Real Madrid coach's eyes?

I believe taremi needs to go to Europe to improve like Karim did.
I am glad Taremi scored, would have been happier if his bicycle kick would have been a goal. what a nice technique with so much power.
I believe karim, azmoun, gucci are all way better than taremi, but taremi needs to be given playing time to improve as he has so much potential. We don't have any real camp, we don't have any friendlies and our IPL is a joke.
watching taremi is so frustrating but these are the growing pains that I will gladly endure if he actually grows, especially since he scores and gets us 3 points.
Last game especially his goal, run and control were brilliant. this game he got lucky. but a goal is a goal

A great game today.
Team played the game it was supposed to mostly.

The tactic was basically outpower them and try to create as many opportunities as possible.
Our physical prowess and non stop running was also a joy
CQ master tactician again.

Finishing and reffing were again shocking though.

Defense was good minus some slip ups on our right. Milad is a great player and out of all TM I think he could play for any top club in Europe.
JB was very poor today.
Taremi ran and created many chances, not to mention his goal was what you need. A nice moft goal.
Shojaei was wonderful but the players were not on the same wavelength as him. They couldn't match up well.
Ghoochannejad was ok, but he wasn't fed well.

And our fans were great too. Dameshoon garm.

classic queiroz formula. defend well (enough) for 90 min and depend on opponent error or great individual effort to score 1 goal. it gets results in qualifying, but it has so far failed to produce results in any tournaments. won't be sad if he leaves after the world cup.

We barely defended today and were in complete control.

He won almost all of his defensive battles before he got injured.

And as soon as Ramin came on the Chinese had like 6 chances through his spot! Ramin made a Huge jah khali!

Yes he's a good attacking player but his defending isn't that good.

Logioners have little time (only 2-3) days to get used to playing in TM. You could see shojaei sends good passes but he is misunderstood by Taremi, Gucci and others. IPL players have not been practicing due to this Branko vs CQ conflict. China looked ready and had a plan. The goal came from a shir to shir situation. I believe China will win UZ and the rest their games and comes close a 3th place in this group. We should catch 3 point from our next 3 games hopefully so early as possible. It looks like Qatar's only motivation for this world cup fighting Iranians. They lost today.

Amazing game by our boys. It was slow tempo (but we weren't urgent to win it was Chinese who needed a win).The fact that we are so comfortable in our number one spot is good. It allows players like Shojaei and Omid to shine and allows TM to leave most emotions aside.
All the players if compared to average baseline were good. Many mistakes but as others have mentioned...these guys didn't have the same level of preparation as our opponents.

Positive standouts: Ghafouri, Omid, Shojaei, Taremi (getting better), Mimo, Montazeri

Want your guys opinion. I think Barzay would fit and match with Mimo very well. What you guys think about his possible inclusion for TM? He can also play RW which can give JB some competition.

The Game against China today was our second best game in this qualification campaign. The best game was against
South Korea so far.
I am just a bit concerned with Azmoun since he was not able to show his true pontential to us. Taremi is brilliant but
a headache at the same time. He is the one who created the most chances for us with his intelligent runs into the spaces and
his dribbling abilities but he really needs to work on his finishing abilities.
But still he is the reason, why we creat so many chances. Also at Perspolis this guy constantly bring himself
in scooring positions!
All in all a very solid game! Thanks to the boys and Carlos!
From know Qatar will loose there remaining games, even to Syria. It is unbelievable how
Qatar just fail so badly at the WCQ with all the facilities and money they have.
I would be super embaressed as a Qatar-Fan but thank god i am not.
China is a totally different oponnent now, we are bit lucky not playing them in china
since the arrival of lippi. As some mentioned before, china is going to collect poins in their
remaning games.
Uzbekistan is not as strong as they were in the previous WCQ. We should be able to
defeat them at home.
