The season is over and I'm not in the mood anymore to argue but WOW and LOL at the bias in some of the posts here! It's really amazing! I'm glad many members have followed the league for themselves, have seen everything and can think for themselves.

ACL is all that is left now and let's hope all 4 of our teams advance.

PS: All I want to say is that with ALL the shit that happened in Esteghlal this season, it's still amazing how this young team recovered to become runners-up and is also on the verge of qualification to the 2nd round in ACL. Props to Mansourian and his young players that kept working hard and turned things around. Sure, we have a lot of things to improve still, but considering all the drama that hit our team this season, I don't think anyone expected this team to turn things around in such fashion. Esteghlal definitely was one of the best teams, if not the best, in the 2nd half of the season. Mansourian definitely deserves some praise as well considering it's his first season being at such a big club, especially in a season where the drama and BS was even bigger than it normally is.

      My notes of the seaon:

Esteghlal: The best and most improved team of the second half of the season

Perspolis: The most deteriorated team of the second half of the season

Best coach the second half of the season: Mansourian and Kranjar

Saddest relegation: Saba, for the first time ever its appearance in IPL, they managed to screw themselves and relegate!

Special note: I truly wish Mashin Saazi could have survived in PGPL. One of the oldest Iranian clubs, formerly holding bigger fanbase than its arch Tabrizi rival "Tractor Saazi"

Worst mistake of a coach: Veysi leaving Esteghlal Ahvaz, and joining Sepahan. His failure was inevitable from the beginning. He should have stayed with Es A. for at least one more season...

Teams with insufficient infrastructure and stadiums shall not be allowed to play in PGPL!

Me and Mila officially broke up and my current wife is Margot Robbie

Don't agree. We were consistent, if not better than in the first half of the season, especially in attacking. Consistency is the main reason why be became champions that early, our rivals Esteghlal and Tractor had ups and downs throughout the season. (Tractor started very good and choked after the winter break, Esteghlal vice versa).

Foolad were the biggest chokers of the 2nd half of the season.

Yes, pretty consistent result wise, but I think what Keano is hinting at is PP's game play and performances in general, loose from the results. In the first half of the season PP played pretty nice football, plus got the desired results. In the second half of the season, PP's game play in a lot of the games was not good (both in PGL and ACL) compared to the first half of the season, despite the fact that they usually did get the results they wanted to.

Actually I thought that PP didn't perform very well in the first months (aside from the results). We let in very few goals, but also scored few. (I think 18:5 goals in the first 15 games).
Taremi was out of shape, while S. Ansari was scoring left and right. After the winter break, Rafiei's addition revived the offensive play, but I have to agree that our defense dropped ever since the derby.

Branko's team won the championship in the most dominant way in the history of our young league. Other teams weren't terrible, perspolis was just a better team on the field. better than everyone else.

but really, all the success that Perspolis or Esteghlal have had this year, and all the progress they seem to have made, it is all pointless unless they (someone) find a way to privatize these clubs because that's the only way we can have a long lasting and stable management in place that can begin to form a professional club. until that day, all success and progress that Perspolis and Esteghlal (and every other club) seems to have will all be temporary. perspolis is one change at top management away from going back to being a 6th or 7th placed team of the league in a couple of years, if not the very next season.

so I say this to my fellow perspolis fans, enjoy it while it lasts because history has shown us that it aint gonna last.
Our current system just doesn't allow it.

the only positive from this season was that a lot of young players were introduced into the league.

the down side of the league is the cases we have in FIFA, it will come and it will not be good for the top 4-5 teams in the League! we need to lower cost.

Ghale once again pumped his team up with names and bunch of older players, just to get short term results and win the trophy no matter how. He even brought back that punk Karrar, who only months ago showed no respect and said he won’t return to Iran. Disgusting!

I am so glad that Esteghlal snatched away the 2nd spot and now Naft Tehran won the the Hazfi - this feels so good, because despite Ghale - Terkator as a whole is one team you just want to see fail. They had a good start, but as predicted couldn’t keep it up as they had no fresh blood. With Rafie going to Perspolis the team completely lost their spirit and deservedly more or less failed at the end. Ghale has always been a trophy coach - he often cares more about his image & career, than actually believing in young players - hence why he adds nothing to Iranian football, just worthless. People like Daei, Golmohammadi, Mansourian or Veisi might not have been as successful as him, but they are much more important to our football, because at least they do introduce new youngster to league.
