The story behind Teammellis adidas jersey

Thought i share this story with you. I recently found out that one guy in Germany i know for a long time
provides the adidas jerseys for TM. As you all know Queiroz, TM staff and the players were very upset with the Givova kits and Queiroz personally told IFF that he wants a big brand for TM even if its without a contract.
So this guy who also has close ties to IFF and some (former) TM players sends the kits from Germany to Iran. He told me that adidas does the printing of the Cheetah and IFF logo themselves, its basically already printed/designed into the jersey. Then he sends the jerseys over to Iran where they do the numbering and lettering, and if its a qualifier they also put the WCQ logo on the left sleeve. However he said that IFF is not using the adidas lettering and numbering (think its still the uhlsport one?)

He also said that TM staff and players are very statisfied with the adidas gear and that it doesnt seem
like adidas is interested in giving TM a contract. Hopefully thats going to change once we have qualified.
I also asked him if he can sell me a jersey and he said that he has a lot of them and has given a few to his friends and every now and then puts one on ebay. However i am going to get one from him soon, gonna post a pic as soon as i have it.

Thanks for sharing. Not sure the part about them not giving a contract makes sense to me as they have signed some pre-contracts already.

He didnt really tell me anything about a pre contract, but maybe theyre only going to sponsor us once we have officially qualified?

Maybe. I think most of the hold up is to do with the existing Givova deal having issues being terminated.

Adidas can make money from mighty UAE and I'm guessing they also respect international marketing rules

They make nothing from sales. They do this for other companies to win political and economic favors. UAE football is basically a huge state subsidy.
And no one gives a f*** about marketing and copyright laws. If that was the case they wouldn't sell anything in China, India, Thailand,...

I've heard India has taken steps to fix that (hence why EA adds India to their FIFA games). They respect those rules enough to make companies like EA and whatnot profitable

Its the opposite. Products in those countries are priced low enough to entice the consumer to buy the original. You'll notice this for clothes, video games, text books...

Instead in Iran these companies work with middle men who take huge markups and over price everything. Sanctions were great for these a$$holes.

Let's be real and not blame Adidas for not sponsoring us.

Every time a foreign brand has sponsored us, even ones that were not remotely famous, there has ALWAYS been some dodgy dealings behind the scene. With Puma we had all the stolen kits and then the embarrassing Iranian home made versions or the ones with a stuck on tape to cover the names and numbers. Legea again we had the Iranian made kits with the legea badges stuck on and the crappy deal with Uhlsport where we only got real kits for the WC.

At the end of the day there are people in Iran behind the scene that want a piece of the pie and due to this no credible company will come willingly to do business with us. We either have to beg them or pay them.

The funny thing is as soon as they get caught with fakes they always come up with the same story that these companies agreed a deal to produce their kits in Iran.

                        They're to blame as well.
Puma for example is extremely cynical and simply doesn't even make their kits available. They just want World Cup exposure and that's that.

Companies like Legea, Givova and Uhlsport are so greedy they're willing to work with middle men in Dubai to bring in and manufacture (!) the kits. Of course they're going to be garbage.

We either have to get the kits directly or just stick with an Iranian brand.

ITT: Everyone giving a company shit for not having signed a contract with IFF, and instead belittling other arab countries. As usual.

--> Adidas and IFF haven't signed anything yet because of IFF's incompetence and contract issues with Givova. Not because Adidas doesn't feel like signing a contract with us.

The other thing you said about IFF not using the Adidas typeface is correct however, and unfortunate. We're still using the 2014 Uhlsport ones, that we didn't even use after the World Cup, probably because we were using the 2011 Uhlsport typeface till a few months ago lol.

That is very nice of your friend, but can you please tell him to provide jerseys with some red or green stripes? That plain white adidas jersey looks a bit cheap to me. The training kits look much better than the actual jerseys.

Companies using middle men is not just exclusive to the Iranian market. Many lower level teams in the EPL and also teams in the championship use 3rd party companies to get their kits.

We're just a corrupt country. From top to bottom, simple as that.
