I was most impressed by Gucci, coming back and scoring 20 goals in with a mid table league says a lot. If he had the better supporting cast he could have scored more.

too many folks here with short term memory..!!
sardar clearly had the most illustrious and exciting season from our legionnaires in quiet a long time
scoring in CL vs EU Giants easily trumps the rest of our boys doing well in their relatively kiri EU domestic leagues ..!

Tie between Reza and Shojaei....both were regarded as top performers in their respective league and were consistent throughout the entire season pretty much. Shojaei dominated big time and for that reason I give him the edge....no question that he was the best play maker in that league. I'm so happy to see him play at such a high level still

even though mohamad play in russia and a defender, i am looking at the overall performence for the year. comparing all the players who are in europe, the most consistent player of the year is gucci.masoud second , he played good all year also. while other players were good, they were not consistent. also the dutch league is good this year, ajax is in the final of europa league.

lol football doesnt work like that bro. Team needs to remain humble and grounded (which Im sure CQ and coaching staff will ensure). Uzbekistan really have to win to get that second spot, so they will be ready to die for the result. Plus, even though I know it seems different now, TM/iranian sports in general seem to still have a bit of a tendency to fuck up when it looks least likely. I still think we will get the job done but lets not get carried away.

I was not getting carried away, just saying with all these guys being in form we should really play well. I rally think we will beat them by 3 goals.

Mohammadi impressed me the most. His fitness, his speed, he is just an exceptional athlete.

Azmoun impressed The world against top teams.

No other player can compare to what Gucci did this season.

You say Azmoun scored against big teams, but Gucci scored almost every other week. His goalscoring consistency is even more impressive if you consider how he usually makes a goal out of nothing.

And usually, players transferring from Arab teams (albeit little stint at Charlton) don't usually score 20 odd goals a season in Europe.

You can also argue that Gucci had aged passed his best (Turning 30 in a few months), and i doubt anyone would've expected a bit-part player like him to play 38 games a season.

Let's face it, Gucci over exceeded everyone's expectation for him this season. I reckon he is CURRENTLY the best legionnaire we have.

Reza was a close second still to Azmoun imo..!
not to take away anything from his incredible come back this year as a club player..!
but he pretty much saved his legs and by en large just focused on earning ca$h 2013-2016 in club football..!
he is a lethal Finisher and poacher, no doubt but he was
scoring goals in a defensively very tokhmy league where every game's combined score-lines seem to hover near 5 or more..! in a highly attacking heavy Heerveen with couple of the league's best AM's along with pretty decent wingers in the league as his supporting cast.
