Fun fact: it was the Russia vs Iran friendly game 8 years ago which CQ watched closely as he was contemplating the Iran offer. I remember him in the stand taking notes and if I remember correctly Iran won and he was very happy. That sealed the deal

fully agree, we can play russia, in nov a concacaf team since the play a asian team and if saudi ,syria or uzbekistan play them, a friendly against iran is excellent for them to prepare for the match

We should look to play solid European teams that we can challenge like the Netherlands or Switzerland....no matter who we are grouped with we will have to face a team on that level and I think those are 2 teams we could certainly keep up with and take a lot away from.

The rumored Russia friendly will be a good test as well, I was happy to see the first thing out of rezaeian's mouth after qualification was his call on the federation for good friendlies.

I know CQ isn't responsible for friendlies but he's got to use his relationships with other coaches around the world to get something for us better than Somali pirates of South Africa.....the friendlies we had to prep for Brazil we're pretty weak.

With the right prep we can achieve a lot....guys like Taremi, rezaeian, Hosseini need that experience since they never get it. We love seyed jalal he is undoubtedly one of the best defenders in our history but look how he had to learn that making the tiniest of a mistake against a world class opposition will make u pay....

We need to play Poland before they have their games against Montenegro and Armenia. We already beat Montenegro in a friendly and are neighbors of Armenia. If IFF is smart they should hop on that polish sausage fast

^ i agree on this, Poland is a great friendly, and according to Taj if i'm correct Poland is among those who requested a friendly.. i say again i just think.. the only names that have gone out is Russia.
