watched the match live in the stadium with my buddy, but the quality of the match was not high. also the quality of the pitch and atmosphere was low. this Belgian league is somehow different..
for as Eupen this was an important victory. have rezaei was not one moment in the match, and not connected to the other players, somehow he was lost, and not even searched for scoring....but he tried here and there to run and make space, but nothing special at the end..World Cup 2006, Frankfurt, Iran vs. Portugal, Iranian Frontpage of GOAL Sportspaper

"Windfall for Charleroi: "Offers from Qatar and China were higher"
Sporting Charleroi is doing well this season and is still in second place in the Jupiler Pro League after 22 match days. Mehdi Bayat and co have managed to shake out some successful transfers in recent months. For example, striker Kaveh Rezaei arrived as a noble stranger, but the Iranian has already scored ten times.
However, Rezaei also had other options. "Three years in a row I received offers from Qatar, and from China, but that never really interested me, I wanted to come to Europe to take my chance, even if the offers from other Asian or even Iranian clubs were higher" , he reveals in Sport / Voetbalmagazine .
Surprised about his performance, Rezaei is not. " Not necessarily, no, I was already one of the best goal scorers at Esteghlal, and I was twice the top scorer at the Asian Cup and in every new phase of my career I do everything I can to fulfill my ambitions.""

"Rezaei: 'The stress of a derby for 100,000 spectators, I really liked that'
The Iranian Kaveh Rezaei (25) turned out to be the revelation of this season at Charleroi. In Sport / Voetbalmagazine, the striker talks about his experiences in the Iranian competition and more specifically the Surkhabi, the derby of Tehran, one of the most heated soccer dances in the world.
If Rezaei were to explain Belgian football to his Iranian friends, he would say: 'It is very tactical and above all very physical! You have to be ready to play three matches in six days, and in each of those races I will cover twelve or thirteen kilometers. But I am very happy that I have chosen for the Belgian competition. She is very interesting and also an ideal springboard to the biggest European competitions. '
Rezaei did not only have to adapt to another football, but also to another life. 'You might think that it is difficult for an Iranian, who comes from a completely different culture, to develop in Europe', according to the number 9 of the Zebras. 'But the world is getting smaller, the countries are getting closer together. For example, I myself came to Europe in the past. For football, with the national team, but also for fun. Iranians travel a lot. I knew what to expect, so everything felt more or less familiar right away. '
The Carolo's spire grew up in Eslamabad-e Gharb, a city in the west of Iran, close to the Iraqi border. 'It is a region where the Kurds are in the majority', he says. 'Because of the war, the city experienced a difficult past, but little by little it is doing better in the region.'
100,000 fans for derby
When he became a professional footballer, he was wanted by the two big clubs of Tehran, Esteghlal and Persepolis. Rezaei eventually opts for Esteghlal. He played the Surkhabi, the famous derby of Tehran, often described as one of the most heated football dances in the world. "Really a big derby," the player agrees. 'The kind of competition that is not just being prepared the days before. As soon as the calendar appears, the fans watch the date on which the derby takes place and it is no longer out of their minds. The supporters of both teams chase each other very quickly, but always in a good atmosphere, without too many extravagances. It is hard to compare for me with elsewhere in the world, but it is certainly one of the biggest derbys in Asia. You should know that sometimes more than 100,000 spectators take place in the stadium.
"In such circumstances you have to deal with the pressure," he continues, "but to be honest, that has never been a problem for me. On the contrary, the pressure, the stress around such a competition: I really liked that. In the end, it allowed me to prepare even better, to be very focused on training, because I absolutely wanted to be ready for that match. '"
