Its NOT a coaching job but setting up a 'high profile' friendly...
"...A deal is yet to be done but it's understood talks are at an advanced stage. The friendly would be held in the March international window in what both federations hope will be a key part of their preparations for Russia 2018.
FFA chief executive David Gallop confirmed that negotiations were taking place. "

No way he would ever leave Iran for another Asian team. Even if an Arab team would come with a really high pay deal, he would still say no.
Only way he leaves is for something European which I think is too much for him now.
TM job is actually a simple job for him as long as he can handle IFF. He is on vacation every several months plus he is one of the highest paid managers in the world.

There's an interview he's done in a in a Portuguese paper in the last few days. Some guy in the United forum translated it because he talks a lot about United and Real. Anyway he mentioned that he's not sure if he's going to stay after the WC.
He also mentioned the difficulties of working in Iran regarding religion/politics but said that he loves the country and it's one of the most beautiful and how people shouldn't believe the bad image it's has.

CQs marriage with TM is truly a successful one, as much as he made TM, keep in mind TM made him as he had A LOT of failures to before he took charge of TM and by the time he came to Iran he was really a forgotten character! he failed with Real Madrid and Portugal national team and did nothing special with UAE football as well. but with TM he took on a team that was on a serious decline, and completely rejuvenated it to the point that i can assure you if we get grouped with top 10 teams at the World Cup, they will take notice and will show concern. this is a true achievement and to say it was ONLY CQ's doing is really taking away from who and what we are as Iranians. He repeatedly says it himself that its his team that he is proud of and how much they sacrificed and worked hard. CQ is therefore successful because of the awesome partnership he has with Iranian football in general ( good or bad). This most definitely might not be the case if he took over Australia, Korea or even a much higher ranked team and HE KNOWS THIS PERFECTLY WELL!!! so lets not get our knickers in a twist, as long as TM is winning and IFF is paying him and building statues and shrines in his honor he will stay!...
