I said it in another thread already...THIS TM can beat ANY Team in the world right now. Carlos had Argentina in a position facing them to a "possible" draw or even defeat(you know that not given Penalty)....Todays TM is like a SUPADOOPA Boost in any Aspect from 2014.

I wouldn't go too far as in saying we can beat "ANY" team in the world. Against the likes of Brazil, France, Germany, and other top European countries, we would not come beat them

Mexico is still a class above us
Yes we almost tied Argentina but that same week we lost by 2 goals to Bosnia.. don't take that Argentina game outnof context... that was the game our boys were waiting for and put everything in it...
Mexico would beat us slightly I think.. but we should aspire to be like Mexico within 10 years

1Vs1 TM CAN beat any team in the world - and those who didn’t believe this were proven wrong against Argentina. Argentina went to the final and with a bit more luck would have beaten Germany too - keep in mind Di Maria was injured, but did play against Iran. Don’t think any other team managed to stress out Argentina like Iran did.

but when it comes to playing big teams in a row, that’s the real challenge. Hence why we lost against Bosnia - TM had not much energy left. However the good thing is the current TM squad looks to be stronger and we can rotate - this might finally give us the power to play at full force each match.

We'd have a good chance, but they're a very determined team. They never give up and they cause alot of mistakes in their opponents. We could handle them physically, but their speed would be a problem for us.
Honestly I think TM would do better versus a team like France or Spain, rather than Mexcio. We simply don't match up well against them.

The Argentina game was ONE game only. If we play Argentina 10 times, more than likely we will lose all 10 times. We tend to struggle at times against Arab teams such as Qatar, Iraq, etc and you think we can beat the likes of Germany or Argentina or France. I will surely say that CQ has elevated TM to a level where we can compete with the likes of Sweden, Holland, Croatia, and the mid tier European and perhaps even compete with the likes of England but nowhere can they beat the likes of the top powerhouses. I need to see consistent results at the WC and in good friendlies before we can ever judge that. Never base it off that ONE Argentina game

They are a tough opponent, agree with Nokhodi they never give up, play with lots of passion, Iran was always unpredictable, so expected the unexpected from TM. We do pretty well when the expectation is low and sometime choke when there is high hope.

We talk about it here because this is a Persian football forum where we can talk about dream games and matchup because it's not like it can talk to my canadian friend's about this lol

Mexico of today IMO is weaker than that mexico.
But don't forget that mexico is in good form and had a very strong world cup, playing a very strong game against brazil, and being knocked out by a 3rd placed holland via a false penalty kick.
I think that we could certainly beat mexico, but mexico is a consistently top 20 team in the world.
I am in mexico often and mexicans have a similar type of gheyrat for their country and for this reason I think that it is difficult for anyone to play them.
