I think Carlos knows if he takes a stance here that all of his hard work throughout these years may go down the drain for nothing and get him sacked. Although if they sack him based on something like this, they would have to pay him the rest of his contract anyways, right? That might play a role in his decision, if he wants to say "F it, Imna go out with a bang and become more of hero than I already am to Iranian people."

But I think he will probably steer clear of this one cause it's not a battle he can win as his criticisms have always been about sports politics rather than national politics.
He'll probably just keep working his magic behind the scenes, wouldn't be surprised if Masoud and Hajsafi consulted with him prior to making their decision.

And you really think Queiroz will be diplomatic to keep his job? Were you in coma during the last 5 years?

With the comments of Davarzani, things are absolute now.

There is no more important cause now for the "Iranian internet mafia" than protesting against our federation and our government against this shit.

Is there any possibility of getting another thread in either football or general forum to think of strategies? The hashtag #noban4ourplayers on twitter and instagram is doing well, but with more and more iranian celebrities and former pros, a good movement could get some traction and we could potentially see the end of these two things which have damaged iranian sports so much.

        - Not playing israeli teams
        - No women in stadiums

This is worth more than the actual world cup itself.

How about no? It's like all the hard work of the last years would be for nothing, just because a bunch of people like to feel important with these hashtags? Guys, it's not that big, but if you guys want to make it even bigger, then you'll find some Mullah who think's aberoomon mire agar hichi nakonim. For what just to feel special? Trust me, I think for our boys and King Queiroz this is a real important path and also for our country we have to follow. Still nothing happend, it's not like we will never ever see Hajsafi and Shojaei again.

What I will never understand about Iranians as a whole is how we accept that our administration/religious figures/government is "khartokhar" and we expect the rest of the world to accept that and operate around it.

Lets see how IFF/IR explain themselves. CQ is basically the attentive boyfriend to a very ugly, meth addicted, prostitute of an IFF.

Reminds me of the 2014 draw with all those Iranians that blasted the brazilian model for wearing revealing clothing at the draw and not a chador, and not on IR that didnt show the draw... Ahmaghan mardom vallah

I personally agree that allowing women in the stadium is worth more than the world cup itself. But I doubt the average PFDCer feels the same (how about a poll?)

Regarding the Israeli issue, would one trade a WC appearance to have this settled once and for all? Maybe, but the problem with both these propositions is that it may not be a linear path: that is, we end up getting banned from WC and nothing changes!

This is not about people feeling good for themselves. It's about the interference of politics in every aspect of everyday life, including sports. It's about all those poor olympians forced to take a defeat rather than face an Israeli. There are no easy answers because there are no guarantees of any strategy working or backfiring, but one thing is for certain: this is not just about CQ and Team Meli.

Oh boy some of you have quite the colourful vocabulary. No need to throw insults around, it's not like this behaviour wasn't expected from the IFF.

Give it a few months and they'll be invited back, don't you worry. Same thing happened in 2009 when they "banned" a ton of players, only for most of them to come back after. This is a much, much smaller 'crime' than they committed in 2009.

Davarzani is a nobody. He has a title but his political power is nil. His lack of power is why he's such a loudmouth.

Who the hell is wanting "just to feel special?" Theses issues (not playing israelis, no women in stadium) are more important for the country than reaching the second round of the world cup. Enough is enough now. Having been to all the world cups, getting features in newspapers for my crazy bodypaint, screaming my lungs out even in the Angola game, I would happily pay and then lost all my money if there is any chance of change.

I guess Masoud and Ehsan would agree with me, they will know full well what the outcomes of their actions would be and I'm really proud of them.

If Israel should not be recognized why do we sell oil to Israel?
                          And why palestinians recognize Israel?

be daraaaak two palestinian, or 200 play in israel. where should they play anyway, and this is not our business. We are Iran, we must face Netanyahu and their politics with our own weapon. and the best weapon is not to take part and treat them like what they are....I think palestine is not even important, there is enough dispute between iran and israel to make such movement legal...about oil, i do not know, you have to proof what you say.

and the two players are not needed to be be suspended. it i enough not just to invite them anymore. who can do something or proof? i mean because of their quality of football they are not invited anymore, so easy....and by the way, both are not our best players. they are for sure changeable....

We call this kase az aash daaghtar! Why the hell did we make a problem with Israel when there was none before (1979)? Why the hell are we the only country who treats them like this, because the IR is soooo righteous and cares about the poor palestianans, right? Give me a break. If they actually cared about their own people and the palestineans and took a moral stand, then maybe. Why the hell do we take a political stand that is not internally popular, not internationally popular, and only leads to sanctions and badbakhti for our people? Sanction of TM will be the result.

What does Isreal care about us if we are not funding their enemies within and to the North with $$ and rockets? As far as I am concerned we are taking a stick and stirring the beehive, when we get stung it is our (collective) fault.

Finally, the point is not whether Msoud and Ehsan are starters, or expendibles. They are part of TM. Man, reading your post depresses me.

saeed_noro, The country is under huge sanctions as it is. For the Ashura event(game Iran vs south Korea) Iran was fined 50K $. This may result in exclusion from world cup. They just got 10-20 million $ for qualifying to the world cup. You are not damaging Israel but Iran. If they exclude Iran from FIFA many clubs may go bankrupt.
We live in a different time now than before. They want an excuse for more sanctions. Finally go watch Iran china game once again. Shojaei is very usefull.

Whatever happened in 1979 of before, now we are in 2017 and the world is different. Israel&netanyahoo are like a dog who found a bone (Iran) and won't let it go away whatever Iran will do. Iran is so useful for them to hide what they do with palestinians from international comunauty, to get billions of dollars of investsments and best of the best military equipments+ sanctions against the country of the region that can challenge them in every domain. They won't let Iran enemy status go away so easily.

Even if IR wake up one day and declare its readyness to have best friend relation with Israel, you can be sure Netanyahoo will ask excessive demands to make it not happen
