very disappointing. Now its time to get down to business. He needs at least 15 goals for Rubin this season ( probably closer to 20 ) and an excellent WC (performances, goals, and getting Iran into the knockout stage/putting in a great overall performance ) . Currently he isnt fit, and he needs to start starting. This off the bench bs will not improve his goal tally.

Like most things in iranian football, best to not get our hopes up.
If history is an indicator, he will score 5-10 goals in the league, and we are not even close to guaranteed to look good in the World Cup. Everyone is expecting us to easily make it out of the group, but we could be in a group of death where it will make it hard for our players to shine.
If Lazio debacle has taught us anything, we can't have high expectations.

His life, his career, his choice. There maybe more than meets the eye here. Let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he's given his transfer lots of thought and figured his best option at the moment is Rubin....maybe just maybe he's thinking he can do better after WC2018."Evil is rare, but ignorance is epidemic"

Hes gonna fail if he stays with Rubin. Even riding bench at Lazio would be better. He wont score 15 in that league and that shitty team of Rubin. What will be his biggest game to look forward to? A couple of league games against cska moscow?? What he doesnt get is he made a name for himself, at Rubin with no euro football, he will be forgotten by next year even if he scores 20 and 3 more in the world cup. This one mistake could cost him his career eventhough hes young.

Sardar looks like an average player in the league. That's a product of the league's style of play. People are already calling his goals against Bayern and Atletico flukes and lucky. Go read that Lazio forum, the dumbasses think Caicedo is better than Azmoun.
The longer he looks average in the average Russian league, the more average he will look to potential buyers. We are all banking on him having a great season and a breakout World Cup. What if that doesn't happen? What if we get a group of death and Sardar looks average?
without miracle performances in the league and World Cup, he is guaranteed to be seen as an average player next year. It's sad, but he put himself in this situation.
Lazio expected him to come in and make a difference for them. If he doesn't make a huge impact at Rubin this year, do you think teams will still think he's an impact player? It's a risk and a gamble to make that bet.
We know he is talented but the longer he waits in a league like Russia, the worse odds he has of breaking out in a top league. This was his chance to do it.
I would put my money on Sardar not being as sought after next year as compared to now. He would need a big performance in World Cup, and even then, many teams don't sign based on World Cup performance anyways.
It's a bad situation, but there is always false hope to make us feel better.
