What is your ideal World Cup group?

We are still 5 months away from the draw but lets have some fun with it.

Keep in mind Iran cant be matched with Asian teams or North American teams(most likely POT for us).

Based on what the groups look like now and which teams are likely to qualify I'd go with something like this to see us through.

We match up against Colombia the best out of the seeds in my opinion. J. Rodriguez/ Cuadrado/Bacca are superstars but we handled Di Maria/Aguero/Lavezzi/Messi with less than we have now.

With Ezzatollahi/Karimi or Ezzatollahi/Hajsafi we have the two to limit Sanchez and Aguilar in their midfield. LB is Colombias weak spot and with Rezaian/Jahanbaksh we can try to overload them.

I see Ireland/N.Ireland in playoff contention. We can beat them we have more technical players and speed on our side against either.

Tunisia to be the most open game of our group. Win or go home.

If we avoid a group of death we may have a chance actually.

Iran issue has been pretty much always the last match, we go out of gas in such a high level tournament, playing 3 intense games and usually the 3rd one is not the best one(1998, 06 and 2014), we need to absolutely work on this matter, i have a feeling this time around with stronger bench, CQ will use different line ups in all 3 matches to rest some players, depending to opponents of course.

Lots of teams can squeeze into KO round by fluke or luck of draw or something, but then get killed next game. I be happy if we have entertaining 3 games and at least 1 win 1 draw than to go thru beating N. Ireland and Tunisia which not many around the world will watch. Gimme Iran-England, Iran-Brazil, Iran-Portugal any day

Disagree this isn't a EL or UCL draw for our boys which we hope they shine against bigger teams so they can transfer to a better club, this is a World Cup draw 80 million people or more's hopes are on this draw and i want TM to advance to second round of course it would be better to pull out a Costa Rica like 2014 but that is a really tough thing to do and i prefer a group like 2014. I'm sure everyone's dream here is to see TM advancing to second round just like me so lets hope for a group that fits us the best.
