I agree, unfortunately for Gucci, Azmoun is significantly younger and already he's scored many goals for Iran. Azmoun's team also has been on winter break for quite some time now!

true, but being young is great but no experience, gucci has experience.

Hopefully CQ, will do the right thing and call Alipour instead of Gucci.

I really like Gucci but it's seeming more and more likely that that would be the right thing to do. But guys don't forget we're not on the inside in training camps and practices we don't see the work ethic that these players put in. Maybe Gucci is the hardest working player there. Honestly that often is enough for a spot.

"Ghoochannejhad has to postpone special party: 'Agreements made about cheering'

Reza Ghoochannejhad hovered on a pink cloud through the Abe Lensta Stadium. The striker of SC Heerenveen became father of son Doran last week.

"We had already made agreements about the way of cheering. It should be in the next game ", said the Iranian international after the 1-0 victory over FC Twente.

The striker has regained his starting place on Henk Veerman since last week. "If you play against such a five-man defense, it is very busy, but I was pretty firm," says Ghoochannejhad, who is bursting with self-confidence in the competition with Veerman.

"In the second half of the season I started with a different mindset. I have not reached the level I can get in the winter break in many races. I have enough confidence in myself to know that things are going well. It is my job to score, but also to make the team play better. By being good in the combination, being firm and letting the team join you can contribute to the team achieving a high level. That worked out well this time. ""

No but he is a guy who has watched more than a season of football. How many goals did Gucci score last year? This is one slow season, and still plenty of time to pick it up before the WC.

If we are to ride the hot hand every few months, TM starting 11 will be drastically different for each game. To Alipour's credit, he has been very consistent for a while now - but some of his decision making on the pitch is worse than Taremi's. Too risky for the WC IMO, unless he comes to a TM camp and just lights it up.

Alipour seems more like an AC 2019 player to me, if he can keep up the form.

Debating wether Alipour should be invited to TM has been going on for 3 years! Ever since he scored in that derby match, he should have deserved a call up (especially when shittier strikers are being called up). If you had followed prior to 2018 you’d notice his capabilities, only thing that may slightly had halted his potential was him having a child, but still had the quality at that time for call-up.

CQ will not leave gucci out for a player who play in pp, he might leave gucci out but wont take alipour for sure.

the problem is not alipour, our attacking force is filled with european base players, hence if he dont go europe he will not be called up, kaveh got the massage , and went to belgium and now is doing well and getting called up to tm, alipour did not get it

Tafazolli is playing in Europe and he's not being called up (EVEN AS A RESERVE), lots of players playing in Iran are being called up especially if they aren't playing good. Additionally, there's a major difference in being benched for Hank Veerman 9/10 and actually "playing in Europe".
