I don't understand why clubless players like Karimi and Dejagah are invited. What did they perform lately to deserve a call up?
In any other NT they would have been left out...

Rezaei will be invited. Just seeing CQ relying on familiar names to close out this qualification, and if Karimi and Dejagah are clubless in October, you can bet your bippy that they might be dropped.

I think Dejagah is a very important player for CQ, and Ali Karimi is there for continuity sake. If Rezaei was brought in along the handful of other players, it could be too much of a shocking change for the players.

Kaveh will surely get invited if he continues his current form.
Masoud is our captain and a proven quality player. This is just a temporary measure to allow younger players gain international experience.
Let's not forget that CQ is a professional and knows his Job and players better than Anyone else. He has a clear strategy for World Cup preparation and this is the first practical test for his rejuvenated team.

Guys chill.
I see so many people complaining about inclusion of Dejagah and Karimi as if there are no positions in football!
They are not Kaveh's competition!
Also those two are still great great players. Don't forget how long Ramin didn't have a team and managed to stay in shape and slotted straight into the starting line up of his European team!

Honestly guys, this is one of the best squads we’ve ever had and people are still complaining. Yeah alright, such and such should have, such and such must have, such and such shouldn’t have… bla bla bla! There will never be a squad with which all of the members are fully satisfied! Trust in CQ because he is the ONLY one knowing what he’s doing and he has proven multiple times that he knows best.
I mean, just look at our squad for the same match 4 years ago! Do you notice anything?
• CQ has changed almost the entire squad and brought down the average age by 3-5 years.
• Back then our starting 11 consisted of old players – almost all playing in Iran or Qatar (except Gucci). Now, around 60-70 % of the starting 11 are playing in Europe and only 2-3 are above 30.
• One of the most important things: CQ has built ONE TEAM! I think the team atmosphere has never been as good as now.
• CQ replaced big players like Nekounam, Teymoorian, Jabbari etc. without us even noticing that we are suffering in these positions.
• World-class coaches in world-class teams are suffering with a generation change. Look at teams like Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands. Latter one used to have one of the strongest teams worldwide and now they may not even play in the World Cup (after not playing in Euros either). Spain is struggling, Brazil is struggling. What is CQ doing? He built up an entire new generation slowly, but steadily. He managed to qualify for WC with ease! And and and and and.
We are experiencing a golden era from our beloved TM.
1. We have at least two solid GKs.
2. No need to talk about our defense – ROCK.
3. Look at our midfield. Never ever before we had the luxury problem of having too many top players available. Look at our current squad. Damn strong! And we have still players like Shojaei and Rafiei not even in the squad.
4. ARJ, Sardar, Gucci, Torabi, Ansarifard, (hopefully soon) Kaveh and now freaking GHODDOS. No words needed.
5. Most importantly: we have ONE TEAM! There is an awesome team spirit! We have a world-class coach who’s been with us for 6 years, consistently showing that he’s gold.
Now sit back, relax and enjoy the games.

i think Hajsafi in, and shojaei out is also political. so we show fifa, that we did not throw them (both) out. probably later hajisafi, but to be honest, shojaei is not a TM starter for me, probably he can do the squad for world cup, but better replacing him now...
Shojaei yekam bishtar shulugh kard, Hajsafi i guess get a (last) chance...World Cup 2006, Frankfurt, Iran vs. Portugal, Iranian Frontpage of GOAL Sportspaper

And on the 8.Day God created Ali Karimi, and he saw he was good!
If Defenders were allowed to use their hands to stop Karimi -
