DID CQ DESERVE TO BE IN THE FINAL NOMINEES FOR FIFA COACH OF THE YEAR?

Originally posted by Camran khan View PostNot too long ago (I think after we beat China) he wrote an article saying that TM is Asia's biggest hope for reaching the knock out stages of the world cup.
For example, I follow the Lakers, a team who is rivals with the Celtics. There are some journalists I trust, as they grew up Lakers or Celtics fans, but you could never tell from their journalism. They'll say that this choice or that choice from the rival team was objectively good or bad. Then you have Bill Simmons, who is so clearly biased in favor of the Celtics that you cannot take him seriously, even when he praises the Lakers in some instances.
His praise of the Lakers comes off as phony after all of the trash he has talked. Constantly saying the Lakers are an inferior franchise and then saying Lonzo Ball and the Lakers look like they have potential does not make me like Bill Simmons. He still comes off as a major ass who tries to make himself seem unbiased through some articles, but generally on Twitter takes whatever chance he has to take digs at the Lakers.
This is analogous to the situation with Duerden. Despite articles praising TM, we all know what he really thinks. We're just in a lucky funk right now. We're not a real Asian powerhouse like Korea, Australia, and Japan. Heck, we lost to Iraq in the Asian Cup!

Afat is right. That prick John Duerden only started praising Iran recently only after it was undeniable that Iran was the best team in Asia by a long shot. Before the last year or so, he RARELY praised Iran. In fact, before the last year or so he regularly bashed Iran and over hyped Korea. He is extremely biased, the fact that he wrote a few positive pieces about TM recently doesn't change his bias and his long history of Iran bashing.

Who is the superpower of Asia now, bitch? You're real quiet on your Korean f*ckbois recently, Johnny.
That guy is a biased punk, I never read his articles, and neither should you. Any recent articles praising our players is just to not look like such a fool. He is a fool, who didn't know Iran's strength up until this year. The guy can't be a great reporter if he didn't see Iran developing the last 3 years! Even my friends who are not Iranian could tell we were the best team in Asia since 2015. Why did it take an expert 2 years to figure this fact out.
Hope he cries tomorrow when we shut out his beloved Koreans 2-0 in their home. Establishing that they're our bitch now.
Sorry for the rant, just hate that guy.

Spoke with him on Twitter before - not a bad guy at all. He even follows us on Twitter give him some slack.

Guys, do you have any articles? I don't want to defend someone who I don't really know, but I'm genuinely surprised about the vitriol for him. All my memory of him is that he always hyped Iran a lot and mentioned iranian players. In particular, he always mentioned Karimi and was the only western journalist giving him praise.
As I said, maybe his wife withheld some Bulgogi from him and he became anti-iran in recent years. But this is the kind of thing I remember him for...:

He is praising Iran now because he has to. In reality, we have forced him to acknowledge us. I won't forgive him brushing us aside and comparing us with the minnows of Asia. I'm glad he is eating his words and now kissing Iranian ass.
Sorry, I can see through bs from fake people.

I personally don't want to go back to his tweets from years ago, but obviously a few of us remember those statements and it was obviously hurtful to our national team.

It's not a big deal, we shouldn't keep arguing about it. Obviously we don't agree, and it would be hard to convince each other how we feel about a person. I respect that you guys can get over it, I just personally don't like him as a journalist. Sure he's a fine guy in his personal life.
Just don't appreciate bias. Even the article Tehranto posted is seemingly more about Korea problems than our success, and barely mentions other group participants who still have a chance at qualifying. I hope you can understand why we don't appreciate what he said in the past as I can respect that you believe he has had a change of heart. If that's how you feel, it's fine. Again, I can't convince to not like the work of a person you haven't had an issue with.

John D. is a damn good sports writer regardless of his annoyingly obvious bias towards the eastern block teams in Asia, especially SK ..!
ultimately he is a western doughboy, married to some SKorean broad, so obviously his personality and general outlook is a product of his upbringing and his current life surroundings..!
i also agree with Afta that he has very little if any genuine respect or love for Iran and iranian football...!
sure he has written some great pieces on Iranian football and our players throughout the years, but mostly because that is his job and he can not ignore the Traditional Football Giants of Asia who have been dominating Asian football for the past 4-5 years..!!
i like his work for most part because it shows that he researches the subject matter throughly and in detail before spewing it on a computer screen. besides his articles have a smooth and well organized flow which makes for good reads often.
in conclusion, he is a zanzaleel, SKhayemaling, iran-hating cunt with pretty good job skills.!!
ps
CARLOS shoulda at least been amongst the Top 5 coaches nominees ..! perhaps next year after his TM shocks the world, they'll give him a fair due respect in his profession..!!

not sure why nobody posted the final 12 and kept saying CQ should be in it.
Allegri, Ancelloti , Conte, Enrique, Jardim , Loew , Mourinho, Pochetino , Simeone , Tite ( Brazil coach who has returned them to phenomenal form ) , and Zidane.
What CQ has done is amazing, but thats a pretty damn good list. Only person I could see him displacing is enrique, but there are so many other coaches who werent selected as well. If iran does something at WC he might be in the next one.
