Don't be so reactionary. Teams have bad games. This was our worst game since the first one against Qatar.

Actually the BEin Sport commentator said this was Iran's BEST GAME!! He goes to say They played amazing football and drew a team that was equally determined.... I agree!... Sometimes the score line does not reflect the story we see...We played , we scored we drew.. Why we gotta hate, lament, or cry??? We improve and move on.... We have qualified and no need to get mad at any of the TM players. Beirranvand feels more confident when there are players on the field like Jalal who talk to him and communicate . he saved many potential goals. The weak defenders and midfielders have been identified by CQ and that is enough. No need to use foul language as some fans do in the stadiums. I even lost money on this match but I am not even as mad as I would have thought. I know the Syrians played dirty in our previous encounter, but the conditions also contributed on that day.

I wish we would have beaten them and kept our clean sheet record, but on the other hand having seen Uzbekistan play and remembering what they did to us last WCQ campaign against Qatar (which could have easily cost us a WC), I am kind of glad Syria made it.

Now let's hope the Saudi's end 3rd and by some miracle get eliminated by Syria, with goals scored by their "Saudi Prince" Al Soma.

& Our Defense is equally to blame for Both Goals as Beiro....!! lets not make the guy the only scape-goat in this game..!!

1st goal was 50/50 his fault as that was a very well taken FK which he still managed to get down fast enough to parry away but unfortunately it bounced right in middle of the box and our D fell sleep on reacting to that deflection.
2nd goal was certainly the fault Rezaiean for giving up possession cheaply when everyone was pushing forward on attack and when you leave the attackers 1v1 with keepers, more often than not it result in goal rather than a great save. still Bei rushed it too much trying to close the near post leaving too much hole in center and far post for attacker to slot in an easy goal on break..!
not so sure Alireza woulda faired too much better today on those chances..!!?

Syria plays anti football. They won't get anywhere in the world cup,and if they make it they will only embarrass Asia. Also today the referee was horrible we had two penalty calls not given one foul committed on Taremi and another on Azmoun, plus other no calls for them. They won't be able to get away with that kind of stuff with world class referees.

Loooooool they decided to save the fireworks. So embarrassing, TM stayed on the pitch 10 minutes after the end of the match, and finally left the pitch as nothing happened, and so did the fans. What an unorganized country we have.

We played complacent throughout the match. Also we should stick to our own defensive tactics as it's been proven to work for us.

Anyway this draw for me personally Fer as bitter as a painful loss. We lost our clean sheet WCQ record , and the unclassy Syrian team also snatched the 3rd spot.

Uzbekistan had a great chance of owning the second spot up until last week and prior to that unbelievable 2-0 loss

Very true Keano jaan. Uzbekistan had it all. In a year that we had the weakest Korea ever; they could easily snatch a World Cup qualification; however they lost 2-0 to China and lost the playoffs too.

The fireworks story is also another proof on how this regime belittles team Melli. Believe me that the passages are happier for Syria making it to playoff than us who qualified with no loss top of the group and 1100 minutes of not conceding a goal.

On our formation; I am totally with you on that as well. This is another proof for everyone that complains for our defensive formation. Our team is great the way it is we should always be the same defensive counter attack Iran. Even though CDM is kind of out of fashion in the world and CAM is replacing it. However for Iran it is mendatory as it makes it impossible to penetrate our defence. Just you witnessed how an offensive formation caused as many shots on our goal in one game vs probably all our matches & two goals conceded!

Also Saeed Ezatollahi is a must for our team. Him not being there created a hole in the middle. I hope the 3 official games ban would be a rumour. I don't know why he had to do that childish stamping the previous match.

AND OUR AZMOUN massive and a player that knows how to score. Our main forward. He bounced back from depression lol. It kind of tosses back between him and Taremi. Poor Taremi was unlucky. I know some may argue that he lost an empty net but his header hitting the post was the main reason we scored the first goal. And he was effective on the second one as well.

This is well deserved result for a TM turning their back to Shojaee. By the way why is anyone surprised? We were in a very weak group to begin with. It happens that Syria had more fire power than any other team in the group. Plus I would not blame the 2nd goal on Beinarvand. The first goal he is partly to blame for because of the rebound on the shot. He had a good enough vision on the free kick where he could bring his whole body in front of the ball and actually catch it.

Total reminder of the second stage four years ago, when Qatar snatched a late 2-2 to go through with us instead of Bahrain.

I feel somewhat pissed, but I think I'm just spoiled from that fantastics qualifying campaign. Unbeaten, qualified with 7 points ahead of Korea and two games in hand and set a new defensive world record in between. Oh, and that with a young team. I guess I can't complain .
