i agree, but its just more for match experience for TM . but i also like the idea of them organising a camp and playing against various local teams in sweden / portugal /austria . i would of course love for us to play and set up training camps in england but highly doubt that will happen

Agreed. Except for Panama, Costa Rica . Those friendlies are usueless bc we are playing better versions of them in venezuela/ecuador. I would instead like to get Sweden ( which taj said is real possibility ) , and a team like Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland. Those teams actually all play a distinct style that we need to familiarize ourselves with if we are drawn with them. If we play one of those guys and sweden that will be excellent.

japan and korea did great friendlies. now we also know WHY iran won´t play russia in moscow, because koreans fixed this deal three days before for moscow. iran qualified first, but koreans made the deal before...

Wrong, Kazan has the biggest Iranian / Muslim Population in Russia. Therefore this location makes sense.

what surprises me most is that other teams arent actively pursuing friendlies with us. We have a very good defense for international standards, multiple players in europe and with CL/ EL experience, a renowned coach, and many fans in european countries so we would seem like an ideal test for many good teams who want to face a team that they will have to break down , likely have much more possession than. Guess nobody wants to deal with IFF's bullshit

These are the reasons why

1-only 6 teams in the world have for sure secured thier place in the WC the other 26 have to wait at least till October 10 and November 12 .

2-the World Cup draw is on December the 6 Theo many teams are waiting to figure out their groups before settling up friendlies.

2. 2010-2014 Iran was isolated from the rest of world, since major European and Asian airlines apart from Alitalia, Lufhansa, serveral Ukrainian and Russian airlines terminated their flights to Iran and refused to resume them. Only from 2015 onwards all the big airlines are back such as British Airways, Air France, KLM, etc.

3. Financial/Banking issues was other obstacle

1. CQ/Kafashian/Taj always want Team Melli to play in Europe not in Iran!!! Last time an European country traveled to Iran to play friendly match with Team Melli was back in November 2009 which was Macedonia.

Most teams want a lot of money to come to Iran and Iran is not able to make that money back since there no tv rights and cant sell tickets at $40 a piece. In an international venue they can get paid for tv and make good money on tickets if they are playing one of the super powers ( Brazil, Argentina, etc.)
