I feel that I sorta know about what can be expected from Beiro & Haghighi ..! Going forward like to see more features from Rashid & Sosha, to get a better grasp of who’s the overall safest bet for WC starting spot. ..!?

Beiranvand or Haghighi for Number 1 in WC 2018

I always wonder about the 6 years of his international career that Rahmati lost because of Branko's obsession with Mirzapour. Rahmati was performing much better at club level than Mirzapour, but as our friend and staunch Mirzapour-supporter Human Afazeli said whilst Branko's assistant "Mirzapour is the only goalkeeper for Iran".
Those six years may have helped with his maturity and we wouldn't have been left with a talented but really oghdei keeper for TM.
In my humble opinion, yet another decision from the Branko era which had a long-term deleterious effect...

The option of Haghighi no longer makes sense for this poll. He has no shot for being the #1 keeper anymore.
At this point, it is really between Beiranvand and Mazaheri. I would pick Mazaheri hands down. Beiranvand has been abysmal for both club and country in the past few months. It looks like he has lost any confidence he had left. Mazaheri is relatively solid in most aspects, not spectacular but solid and at this point far more reliable than Beiranvand. Another thing that Mazaheri has it that confidence or swagger that Beiranvand seems to be missing entirely. Mazaheri doesn't look shook or nervous and on the massive stage that is the WC, we need that quality in our keeper. Haghighi has that quality as well.
I really hope whatever remaining friendlies we have left until the WC, it is Mazaheri that gets to start. I would like to see him get tested more and build some chemistry with his teammates.

Mazaheri distribution is terrible, almost caused us to concede a goal against Venezuela. While he makes good saves here and there he can have horrible saves as shown in some games in the leauge. Overall we should just stick to Beiranvand, and he too can have good games even though sometimes he makes some mistakes here and there. Overall, he makes good contributions to counter attacks with his throws which is crucial to our WC run. With that said, Mazaheri would be a good 2nd keeper. What we need is a keeper who could actually save penalties just in case.

Kicker rated him as the worst goalkeeper of the season when his team got promoted to the Bundesliga. It's quite hard to get such a low ranking when you're in the second best team. And in the season he played in the Bundesliga there was only one player ranked lower.

Davari roo bee khiyaal. It’s so good to see you around again my brother. You along many other great PFDC veterans have been dearly missed.
By the way thank you very much for the above insight. I never closely followed his goalkeeping career. Damet garm and hope to see more of your posts! [emoji1316]

it usually takes a long while and repeated weak performances before coaches Demote their Starting Keeper..!!
although ATM, I also prefer us moving passed Bei and give more features to Mazaheri, i dont particularly think Beiranvand has struggled enough as a starter to deserve a confidence damaging Swift Drop to the GKeeping bench..! such a abrupt change usually doesnt do the psyche of the whole goal-keeping lot any good at all, especially if Rashid also proves to be a fluke upon immediate promotion to number1 keeper and CQ is forced to revert back to Bei..!
Slowly is the best way forward and i think Carlos has already begun the process of it..!!

Choosing between which 3 to take to the WC is tougher I think.
We have a large pool of solid GKs and only a handful can make it.
I think Beiro and Haghighi are almost locks to make the list.
Mazaheri, Akhbari, and Lak likely fighting for last spot. Akhbari is the odd man out I think.
Mazaheri should be given the opportunity to start.
