I am starting to change my mind. There is something about Beiranvand that's not adding up. He looks so lost anytime a low shot comes towards him. The saves that he makes don't seem to come from good positioning but rather a random reflex. When his positioning has to be good, he looks completely lost. I think we need to test Haghighi in the friendlies now since we don't know how he will perform (and we know generally how Beirnavand will perform). At least he has better positioning and more confidence. He isn't solid by any means but we need to try him. These two goals today on Beiranvand were a warning (similar to his Goals vs Syria).

Ultimately I guess we go with beiranvand at least in a couple more friendlies to see if he can redeem himself after syria performance. His distribution is great in terms of kicking and throwing, which ARH isnt. not an ideal situation imo

It's a tough one. They both obviously have weak points and strong points:
Haghighi's positioning is better, he is also better at reading the opponent, and has a better understanding of how goal scorers think. And overall, he makes less mistakes and seems to be more reliable and trustworthy.
On the other hand, Beiranvand's physically superior to Haghighi without a doubt. And therefore, is better at diving. He is a bit taller and lankier, more athletic and most importantly for a GK, has a great wingspan, and long arms. His throws are on a par with the best in the world in his position.
I am not gonna say he would have definetly saved Messi's shot in WC14, but on a good day, that's a save that Beiranvand makes 7 times out of 10. So it all depends on CQ's criterias for picking GKs, he definetly puts a lot of value in athleticism, so my guess would be Beiranvand.

Beiranvand or Haghighi for Number 1 in WC 2018

He is still young though and has good potential to be a serious contender for number 1 soon

He needs to go to a good team with a good goalkeeping coach and he will become another Abedzadeh.

Beiranvand sucked today vs sepahan and gave up both goals single handedly. He is too shaky with the basics at times, but his great physique enables him to make incredible saves sometimes, and regularly launch dangerous counters with his throws and kicks. He was great against Al Ahli so he has it in his locker, but he just makes too many mistakes. Unfortunately I dont think haghighi is much better, he too can be great at times but shitty other times, especially on crosses which led to his benching in TM, and beiranvand is better than him in that dept.

But yeah you are right, I wouldnt panic and wait how Beiro performs and then maybe consider any option just not Haghighi ^^sigpic

The thing with Haghighi is that hes super streaky... Sometimes he makes 5 super saves that no one else can make, and the next moment hes allowing a goal that makes u really scratch ur head.
Beiranvand is more consistent, and has been our WCQ keeper for a good amount of games now. Believe it or not, but changing your keep this late can disrupt chemistry with the defenders. Yes we have time to see how others perform, but right now I'm still giving the edge to Beiranvand... Unless Haghighi really steps up in a few friendlies.
Honestly, just trust CQ and good things will happen. Also want to see Abedzadeh tested.
