I am a big sports fan and long time ago I was a die hard esteghlal fan and followed the IPL. Not anymore. I feel bad for you that are perspolis fans. I know what its like to be invested in a team only to watch them get humiliated, so I understand the frustration in some of you. In a way I am kinda happy I no longer have any rooting interest in any Iranian club.

Let's let go of the AFC Champions League this year (because as of now it is truly over) and focus on something far more appealing and positive and that is Team Meli and the upcoming World Cup.

One can hope that TM doesn't end up with the same outcome as PP did today. Our GK situation is a mess and needs attention ASAP. Berianvand should not be our main GK. I don't understand what outcome we need for our coaching staff to realize that.

You right. It is almost over following IPL for me as well. But we should not invest too much on our national team as well. I remember I got so disappointed after 2006 WC. We had a good team and very optimistic about the future but everyone knows what happen then. I know many Iranian fans (my peers) who gave up Iranian football after 2006 WC.

The memories of 2006 is coming back to me. Coincidentally, same coach and similar story (Daei our old striker destroyed our hope, and here Taremi's story salvaging the team)... I got to go and chill now.

Hilal was the better team and they deserved this win, but this is football, an anything can happen in the 2nd leg, but we should be realistic that we could not score for 40 minutes against their 10 men, they were a class above our players.

I think we need a playmaker and an all around striker like Taremi as Mensha is a direct and fast player but does not have dribbling abilities to do unexpected moves in the box. Branko did not have many options and we saw the team was losing it's touch after one defeat and a draw in the league and without Tarmei, they clearly had no game plans. And not scoring goals on their chances showed that Persepolis is not the same team without him.

Let's be realistic, we all love our team and want them to succeed but we suck at infrastructure and don't spend serious money as we really need to become professional about the game and build infrastructure and bring coaches and great players to give our football an identity as we do not have any club identity yet we need to learn from these Arab teams as football is mostly decided outside the pitch and a strong logistics team wil win you more games like Al Hilal does.

Cheer up guys, anything is possible in football, so let's at least get some Iranian pride back.
Great post! Couldn't agree with you more 👍🏼

The two biggest clubs in Iran got annihilated by the two biggest clubs in UAE and Saudi Arabia.

            6-1 and 4-0, for a total of 10-1.

And you're still talking about Iranian pride?

This is why none of these local players barely make it to the starting line up of TM.

This is a slap in the face of all those critics who said, "CQ doesn't watch the league".

My comment was not meant to be taken that way. We should invest as much as possible in our sports whether its our football (clubs and national team) or other sports, we SHOULD invest! Sadly, there is too much corruption and mismanagement so investing in our sports has not happened.

What I meant was that sometimes its best to emotionally divest yourself from something that causes you pain and that can be anything (sports, relationships etc). I am against your argument for divesting from Team Melli. Our national team needs and deserves our attention and passion. Especially now that we see undeniable tangible results under CQ.

I agree, our GK situation is frightening. But I am optimistic on TM. We have seen concrete and tangible improvements for TM under CQ. His plans and methodology is clearly working so have faith!

This Persepolis squad is one of the most bi-orzeh teams I have watched in a long time. What use is Beiranvand between the posts? When has he ever showed up or even made a half-decent save? TM will be slapped around in the world cup if we keep him as a starter. That PP defense was just atrocious, i swear I haven't been so infuriated by such a lack-luster performance in a long time. Why work so hard to make it to the semis just to shit it down the drain with this toothless display. 40 minutes against 10-men and not even an away goal to show for it, good riddance. I hope none of these losers get even a minute of playing time in the world cup so it is a wake-up call for our domestic league to get it together.

I feel bad for all Perspolis fans here on PFDC but I just want to say that Branko needs to shut his filthy mouth for the next few months and never attack CQ anymore. Also I hope that now the Perspolis fanatics in Iran woke up and stop worship Branko. This guy is just slightly better than our vatani coaches and that's it! CQ >>>>>>>> Branko

Regarding Beiranvand we need to ask ourselves truthfully if the goals were really his fault? IMO he wasn't at fault for all the goals coneded but he showed us that he is nothing more than an average goalkeeper. For the WC we need a goalkeeper which can save our ass like Haghighi in 2014, someone like Abedzadeh, Rahmati or Roudbarian did in the past. We don't have this kind of goalies anymore.

Also I don't agree with people saying that Perspolis lost because of no financial support. That might be true but this can't be the only reason to lose against 10 men with 4-0 !!!
Branko is the only one to blame here for. That was just an embarrassing performance and I hope he gets humble now.

is meantle issue, we dont have psychologies for teams and our players cant handle pressure, one reason why tm is successful is because CQ is excellent at mind games, and team feel they are already losing for Min 1. branko could not motivate the players, and the taremi issue made things 10 times worse. i knew we were going to struggle because iranian teams cant handle pressure, leaving aside the gap in our clubs and infrusture and buying players aside, that a whole new story for another time

Today's loss has nothing to do with financial support

it was a much better quality team who dominated us for 90 mins period .

                            Exactly.

This is why I laugh at people who suggest players should go back to PGL.

                            PGL is a fucking joke.

And our big teams constantly struggle to find any sort of consistency.

And it's why I'm glad that a lot of Iranian players have realized that the only way to improve themselves is by challenging themselves in a better league.

I do not think it is fair to compare the results of Teame Melli to those of our clubs. It is comparing apples and oranges. Al Hilal and the Chinese clubs have the advantage of signing quality international players which do contribute immensely to their success.

Perspolis came to this game with a defeated attitude.

The Iraqi player Rasan did play with purpose. It is a true shame that Branko starts Moslehi instead of him.

Brankos strategy for defense, traditionally was and is non existent, and his stubbornness is atrocious, He got a good slap today from a much better coach! I really hope he learned is lesson because losing the idiot Taremi and not psychologically or tactically preparing the team will be his downfall and this is where he needs to learn a thing or two from CQ and start respecting him!....
