Lak has been hell of a lot better than Beira was in the last math, that's for sure.

Well, we needed the win to make sure we stay in Pot 3 and possibly have a crack at Pot 2 and it looks like we got it.
So, good match in that sense, not to mention CQ tried a lot of players. I definitely would like to see more of Imani and good to see Ebrahimi still in shape for TM.
Ghodos was pretty good but definitely needs some more time to gel with the main team.

It was a decent test and good job on winning the game with a team which has never played in this formation before! Still, I prefer if CQ continues playing our A-side with maybe 2-3 small changes each game. It’s not as if our A-side is playing together for multiple years like other national teams do. Basically, the way he formed the line-ups throughout the WCQ is IMO the right one – the base is the same, but there may be 2-3 differences in the line-up per game. This keeps the boys (especially in IPL) motivated and having hope of being called up. If he continues doing that for the rest of the friendlies we have by June, we should be on a good track.
IMO, CQ should start playing with complete new line-ups at the earliest after the World Cup or even after the Asian Cup, but not now. We need to have our A-side rehearsed for the WC (and for the AC in 2019). Talking about the Asian Cup, I’m still pissed that we didn’t manage to win any AC as the (on-paper) best team in Asia. Not only for the title, but also for the opportunity of participating in the Confed Cup – best test ever for a team like Iran if you ask me.
