I see we have a few more United fans compared to City here.

City play with FIVE playmakers at any given moment, whether thats Fernandinho, Gundogan, Sane, Aguero, David Silva, De bruyne.

With the world cup over, we lost Shojaei and Dejaah, so right now there is not a single good non-takravi CAM in our entire lineup. Closest to buildup play we have is Ezzatollahi/Hajsafi from deep center midfield. Who is supposed to swerve the play in the final 1/3rd?

it depends what kind of player you have, in 1970 brazil played italy in the final and brazil beat them 4-1 best attacking vs best defensive team. that was because brazil had great attack, however in 2006 italy had good defense and won. Iran on the other hand if we have good defense we can do well, cause we can attack and score. but if we dont defend well, then we will alway leak in goals, which is not good.

I'd really like to see a defensive approach to the game relying on quick counter attacks to score. This front four would do the trick against any Asian opposition.

We have done the attacking football attempts, when was the last time with a more attacking minded coach (GN, Branko, Skocic) we could perform well and compete with a top tier national team (or even below 50 ranking). Far and few. Recently we got outplayed by Korea and Algeria with this brand of "attractive attacking football" some folks here love

Now compare that to more organized defensive tactics with CQ, and we secured great performances and results against Portugal, Korea, Argentina, Morocco, Nigeria, Spain, Turkey, Chile

our football was very offensive minded from 1984 untill 2006.
after 2006 wc we went into IDENTITY ISSUE AND OUR DARK DAYS OF OUR FOOTBALL SETED IN
but we where still more offense minded than defense minded.
offense mineded for for so many years got us 2 world cup appearance since 1990-2011
the year we participatd in wcq after 12 years was for 1990 wc.
than CQ TAKED OVER A lost team WHICH LACKED STARS and identity
he built from scratch a very defensive minded team
and reward was back to back wc appearance with cq AND 3 in the row with same defense minded
play with 2 dmf with cq players ans skocic.
O EVER SINCE CQ CHANGED OUR TEAM MENTALITY TO PLAY DEFENSE FIRST WE HAVE GONNE TO 3 WC.
Iran over all through out history soccer has been offense minded team.
persians skills of dribbling is one of the best in the world top 10 ondribblng skills imo.
and over all persian re very aggressive ofense minded people so playing like hat is natural.
