    I do not like the idea, it still is in favor for Uefa top nations to play each other more.

    based on current Fifa rankings: Iran, Australia, Japan, Korea rep. would play each other in league 1 and ONLY the winner will advance to the final to face the strongest teams. so Iran first have to win their continent group and than play quarterfinal. if they lose, they are out.....we will play JUST one friendly probably against European or South American team, if we finish first. even if we want to win the whole thing, we play 3 more competitive matches (quarterfinal, semifinal, final)...

    i don´t like the idea with leagues. I have a better idea , if we create 8 groups á 6 Teams of the best..

    --> 16 teams of Europe
    --> 8 teams of South America
    --> 8 teams of Asia
    --> 8 teams of Africa
    --> 7 teams of North America and 1 oceanian team

    = best 48 teams of each continent.

    based on FIFA Ranking (and the FIFA Ranking basing on just WC,WCQ and other official FIFA and Continental matches and tournaments).

    Every group will have 2 European teams, and one team of the other continents. Total of 6 teams in one group. The 8 winners will qualify for knock-out Final Round (Quarterfinal - Semiifinal- Final). Maximum number of matches: 15 in 2-3 years.

    SO every nation has the chance to qualify for the above Top EVENT (8 GROUPS) via the official FIFA tournament and matches. (No Points for FIFA Ranking via Global Nations League).

    For the other nearly 160-180 teams of the world they should be drawn into 32 groups of nearly same numbers of teams (5 teams each group and some with 6 teams). They will also play out 32 group winners, and the winners will go via 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, quarterfinal, semifinal, final. (Maximum matches: 16 in 2-3 years.)

      No inter-continental games in the group stages? Disappointing format...

        This sounds interesting. The only thing that I would think coaches and players would worry about are injuries and being able to spend time with their families. This sounds like a lot of football which is great for the fans. But would it be good in the long run?
