No, CQ is just testing other goalkeepers before he makes up his mind. He is a true professional. I am sure he has called Haghighi to explain the situation.

doubt it. CQ has 6-7 GK's in mind. Beiranvand, Haghighi, Mazaheri, Lak, Abedzadeh, Akhbari, Hosseini. He invites them in cycles. Last round of friendlies it was Lak who got a chance vs togo. The only constant presence is beiranvand.

The keeper lists have been pretty different for the last three call ups (with Beira being the only constant I believe) - clearly CQ is saying that the spot is up to fight for, but I wouldn't take this list as saying that Haghighi is dropped.

We have a lot of goalies at same/similar level to choose from, he is giving them all a shot.

And I wouldn't worry about Masoud either - CQ had a couple of surprises up his sleeve for last WC that nobody expected, I am sure this WC will be no different.

I think he will go with Beiranvand, Lak and the 3rd keeper choice will be between Abedzadeh, Mazaheri. Lak's injury was the main reason why he wasn't included.

Terrible that the political consequences for Masoud Shojaei still preclude his inclusion.

Upset that Haghghi didn't make it either.

Also sad to see that we have gone from a nation of some of the best central midfielders (for successive generations) in Asian history - J. Nekonaum, A. Teymourian, K. Bagheri, S. Ghayeghran, H. Estili etc. - we cannot produce someone of that caliber right now. Although Ezzatollahi has been putting on real good performances the last 5-6 weeks.

we were the second team to qualify for the world cup after Brazil (excluding the host) and qualified undefeated in the final round. Now we finally have good preparation and we are testing out our new players against pretty good opposition. We aren't in a bad state at all, and not every player being called up will be a superstar, Carlos knows what he's doing.

Where are the excuses from the likes of Tehranto for Shojaei's obviously political omission now? Keep turning a blind eye like you have been for the last 40 years.
I agree, Shojaei should be included in the list and final list even if he sits on the bench. He has great experience which young players should learn from him.

He shouldn’t be talking after letting in that Yugoslavia free-kick. Stick to singing bruh lol.

Jokes aside, it wasn’t his fault. He said he couldn’t see. But he should still not be talking.

He was the best alternative Iranian GK in that era. He was a lot better than Behzad Gholampour aka Gholi Soolakh! Just watch the old matches from 90s.

I know. That’s why it was a joke. I said “jokes aside”.

I saw an interview where he blatantly denied any wrong doing on his part conceding that goal. He said that had he had a chance again, he would form and positon the wall the same way and stand in the same position again.

I almost certain that had Abedzadeh been in the goal that day, we would not have conceded that goal.
