Why is it being played behind closed doors? Its not like the world cup is in one month or so that they dont want to reveal their tactics?

with spectators, the owner of the stadium has to get a license from the city of Nijmegen. Furthermore their should be some police (made) available and even personnel in the stadium (ticketing, food & drinks , security etc).

The real reason and problem is IFF! They didn't manage to arrange the whole thing in time, thats also the reason why Gelredome didn't accept the proposal.
Iran deserves better, TM deserves better.

CQ has a habit to let TM play many friendlies behind closed doors

The friendlies vs Iraq and Papua have been held behind closed doors as well. As well as the games vs club teams (in Armenia, Italy, Portugal, SA etc.)

IFF can fuck off for all I care. This is 100% their fault, for being so late in arranging the friendly resulting in us TM fans who could actually come support the team ending up being the victims of this mismanagement! Unprofessional tools.
