If he scores 3 goals people will still bash him. A lot of members act as if they have personal grudges with some
Players. Defense should have played better, not karim.

Very impressive first 20 minutes and then there was the rest of the match ... unimpressive, completely unfocused, lots of unnecessary fouls, etc.
My biggest 3 concerns with TM at this point and after the last few matches are:
1 - We are going back to playing a rushed and emotional game instead of the calm and collected posture we've come to expect from TM. As the commentator (not Khiabani) mentioned there's a difference between playing a fast match and rushing the match.
2 - I do understand we've had two completely experimental defensive lines but after the first 20-30 minutes a huge gap starts to open between our front and back lines giving the opponents tons of space in midfield. We need to be a cohesive unit (as was the case in the first 20 minutes) not a collection of players scattered in the field.
3 - There's something wrong with the overall psyche of the team. I really can't put my finger on it but they seem very different than WCQ matches. Like I said the guys seem really unfocused and nonchalant at times, lacking the confidence they had before.
I'm hoping all of this is because of the catharsis of qualifying for the world cup and it will gradually wear off as the focus turns to actually playing in the world cup. I think some of the boys are also trying too hard to impress CQ to insure their spot in the final squad.
Looking forward to the Venezuela match (much weaker than our last two opponents) and proper a$$ kicking for some rebuilding of confidence.

Ghoddos - 8 Scored a goal, had nice passes, was involved for the most of the game

The thing about Karim is that he does everything a striker should be able to do except score goals. The guy runs all day, put pressure up top, can actually hold plays and can break down the defense with his pace. However his finishing is just not there. He will never ever replace Sardar, but he can definitely complement him the way Taremi has been successfully doing.

Ghoddos touch to karim from to goal was really classy, and karim did well to set him a good return ball. I think at this point aghaei has done the best at back up LB. Vouria was below the standard he set vs Togo, Russia today but thats okay. Him and Ramin have RB spot covered. Abdollahzadeh did better than hajsafi or ebrahimi so far. With saeid being suspended for the first WC match two of abdollahzadeh, Karimi, Ebrahimi, Hajsafi will have to start for that game, and I expect one of those 4 to partner Saeid for the remaining games.

Given the depth we have in our main striker/second striker position. I rate Azmoun, Ansarifard,Taremi, Ghoddos and Kaveh Rezaei higher for the striker and second striker position. Gucci is pretty useless on the wings (unlike Taremi and Ghoddos) and in addition we have Torabi, Jahanbakhsh and Amiri for the wide or winger positions. Seeing how Gucci is a limited player who can't hold the ball, he should be cut for sure. At least Jahanbaksh has the ability to cross and assist goals with his good passing, if we had better wingers than Jahanbakhsh i would agree, but we don't (arguably Behnam Barzay he has the potential if he performs well)
If we don't take him we lose an option off the bench - particularly if we're leading and need a striker to come on against tiring legs, press from the front and cause problems on the break.

Yesterday wasn't a bad performance from TM - that was exactly what you should expect from our team.
Think about it... CQ hasn't prepared this team to thrash minnows 8-0, because he's thinking bigger picture which is the World Cup. He knows that we will be facing teams that are definitely stronger and more talented, so our counter-attacking tactics are designed in a way that gives us a chance to win every match.
However, because we are a counter-attacking team, matches against weaker teams will look ugly. We rely on the other team to be skilled and possessive, and we set up our attack based on the OTHER team's possession. So when we play teams that are weaker with possession (like Panama or any Arab nation), our game will naturally look weaker. But when we play teams with strong possession (like Argentina, Chile, etc.), our game looks much nicer because they are playing into our tactics.
TM could play FC Chelokebab in the Tehran Men's League or a weak team like Canada and still only win 1-0, because that is how we are designed to play.We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.
