Pretty good half by our players, could have easily grabbed an opener. Lots of great movement on and off the ball. The only thing I wish we did more of was to send Gucci and AJB free on our counters with more direct through balls. You could see on several instances they were on the move and instead our midfielders opted to just play the safer pass. We have players like Hajsafi who can really pick a great pass in these situations, we should use them.

We should have scored 45 seconds into the match, and I would say that we dominated the first half. They had a very VERY good chance on Biranvand's mistake, thank god for Seyed Jalal, he should be cherished as a national icon!
I'd say that if these teams could finish, it should be 2-1 or maybe 3-1 in Iran's favor. They had a couple of half chances, and Biranvand almost gifted them a goal, but they aren't doing much against us. If motivated to perform, they could probably be doing much better as well. We shouldn't forget that many of these guys are not trying to get injured out there, they will miss Russia. This is just to keep the national team chemistry together for them. I don't think a team like Peru will play like this if we draw them in the World Cup. A team with something on the line is always more dangerous, as we are showing now. We want to win this game more than them, and I think it shows.

Team Melli looks good against teams that don't play 10 men in their own half of their field. Sadly, we are accustomed to playing low quality teams in Asia and weak friendlies where we are up against a traffic jam in front of goal. This game allows our players to show off their individual technique. I think Ghoddos, Taremi and Azmoun can do very well in the second half if they are brought in. I think Jahanbakhsh is kind of playing with pain or discomfort, he did pretty well, hustled hard, but should be substituted soon.

were playing much more organized and in-tune as a team but we rush the final ball and generally lacking the required poise and quality in final 3rd of the pitch..! i think we need that bit of extra class that a player of Sardar N samman possess in order to unlock this venezulan often packed D..!
like to see some changes early in the 2nd half..! Beiro, Karimi, Amiri, Gucci, HajSafi seem to be the likely candidates...!??
annoyed with repeated, weakAss, punch-out to middle of the box from Beiranvand. he has hardly been tested otherwise with open looks on his goal, so we can better judge his other keeping qualities..!!
dame Jalal garm for saving our blushed with that save ...!! aside from his distribution outa back, which is horrid, this guy is top class CB..!

Beiranvand and his punches.. that could kill us in the end. We need to rethink this position. He exits the goal too many times and for every ball.
Hosseini is a jewel and we cannot afford to lose him.
Our left flank has been below average.
AJ and Dejagah are our best players. Love how Dejagha distributes the ball. Ramin is just too slow to send the balls into the box. Ezzi is amazing in the air. Karimi is plying a better game than the past ones. Gucci should have put that ball in and so as Amiri.
Venezulela is also a fast counter attack team that could hurt us from the right flank because of Rezaeian's empty space behind him when he's attacking. I think this is a real good friendly game for us overall and we should use some more players in this match sooner than later.
I just hope our players don't get injured as Ven plays it tough like an official match.
Love the passing in our team as well. Good connection between the players.
So far it has been a fast and exciting game from both teams.Last edited by webmaster; 11-13-2017, 08:11 AM.__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

Main takeaways: That half was completely under our control. Our pace was ridiculously good, solid passing, control in the middle of the field. Our play became predictable, hold down the middle, quick pass to a winger, and cross. But still we were very good upfront. Because we were attacking so much our defending was a bit out of formation, giving Venezuela the odd break (in addition to Beiranvands terrible exit).
Overall: We played great, unlucky not to score
Players:
Beiranvand: Terrible exit
Hajsafi: great moving forward, created a lot of offensive threat, didn't see him get challenged much defending
Pouraliganji: Been average, a bit out of position at times
Hosseini: What a player, almost scores a goal, then saves our goal. What more can you ask from a CB?
Rezaein: Great moving forward, needs to switch up his passing a bit to make it less predictable. Without Azmoun, a long cross won't do much. Good defending too
Ezatolahi: Aggressive, powerful, good passing, won headers
Karimi: Wow he has been solid! Really good tackles
Amiri: Rideh
Dejagah: Very slow, but good ball control and passing (Except on set pieces, those were terrible)
Jahanbakhsh: Best player of the half (shocking, I know). He was free to play as himself today, and he showed his quality, very dangerous dribbles and speed
Reza: Should've scored that first minute change, but good pressure and runs
Subs & Reasoning
Ansarifard => Amiri (he has killed every play on that side)
Azmoun => Reza (if we want to keep crossing, might as well have Azmoun there, this passing style does not suit reza)
Ghoddos => Dejagah (he will for sure gas at 60th minute)
Ebrahimi => Karimi (we have the opportunity to take long range shots on this team)--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------
--Moharrami----Hosseini--Kanaani----Amiri--
------------------Ezatolahi-----Ebrahimi--------------
--Jahanbaksh---------Ghoddos------------Taremi--
---------------------------Azmoun----------------------
