Looks like the squad they are sending is somewhat experimental, they are trying to usher in a younger generation and to build on that would be my best guess. That's probably why their captain (age 29) is absent as well as a couple older defenders who have tons of caps. They did bring Rondon though, who I would say is their most well-known player at the moment so it will be exciting to see how he tests our back line.

Those matches were all vs top teams, in high stakes WC Qualifying matches, in hostile environments. This team is no joke. They got off to a bad start in WCQ which cost them dearly, but they are definitely on the same level of peru, ecuador, etc. Probably only slightly worse than colombia, but both countries have a ton of talent coming through
(venezuela vs Colombia was the final of u20 WC). Overall if we can beat them I would be very impressed, it would be a similar result to SK beating Colombia a couple days ago

Speaking of formation; with all respect to those who claim we will be 4_2_3_1 or 4_3_3 in the world Cup. I personally think CQ will choose different formations according to the strength of the opposing side; a case by case scenario. If the idiot ref hadn't screwed his plan in the world Cup we could beat or tie Argentina and probably have the same formation against Bosnia and get a result and go to second phase however consequences forced us to send an attacking formation which exposed our defence against Bosnian counter. A 50-50 risk that ended up against us. I also believe we will have mystery formations which is the masterpiece of CQ. Don't be shocked to see different squad and formation each single time. He has the means and many talents and I guarantee you he will use them in his advantage.
