I don't see any other team Al-Duhail included that can beat a full strength Esteghlal (not todays team) Esteghlals only challenge will be in the finals this year.

Teams will always have injuries. To say Al-Hilal was stronger last year, well Esteghlal was sporting a weak squad also.
    Aziz jaan,

No need to get all defensive and link this Al Hilal argument to Esteghlal. I doubt anyone in here is discrediting Esteghlal's fantastic achievement in its difficult group. All we're saying is that this edition of ACL Al Hilal happened to be the weakest team of its group. There is no way on earth that this Al Hilal upon advancing from its group could have survived the knockout stage. It's just a fact, nothing to do with Esteghlal and its great display!

So if Zob wins tomorrow, they will have to face ESES in a 'Domestic" tie up! Interesting to see this! I guess better than playing Locomotiv!

That would guarantee one Iranian team in 1/4 finals!

Can we just take minute to acknowledge how great moharrami was today. Man that kid is amazing. This dinamo transfer looks very legit as well, apparently branko referred him to their scouts who watched many of his matches up close. I read in a croatian source he is one of their top targets in the summer. With moharrami on the right behind Jahanbakhsh, our right side is secured for many years to come. If he goes to dinamo, he will also be competing in Europa/Champions League as they will win their league this year.

Keano jaan, perhaps you are not trying to discredit Esteghlal's achievement, but some others are and have constantly been with their sneaky comments and low blows.

One particular member has already mentioned like 10 times after the 1st round match-up with Al Hilal how weak this Hilal side is and that they are not comparable to their team that faced PP last year, even though no-one had even mentioned PP anywhere lol
This guy had not even watched the 1st encounter with Hilal and came here with (wrong) game-stats to show that it was an even match and that Esteghlal was not dominating Al Hilal, while everyone who had actually seen the match could see that we were the much better side and ironically even all the stats were in our favor.

Again, I know it's not you, but it's quite annoying to see some members trying to discredit our achievements by getting PP involved all the time for no reason.

It's really annoying that we can not even cherish this moment that 2 Iranian teams are topping their groups and that we have to argue about the strength of another team (a Saudi team even). As if Esteghlal beating Al Hilal twice this year is a blow to PP being eliminated by them last year or anything. No, it is not, as these victories in this edition have nothing to do with PP last year.

Anyway, like I said, Al Hilal might be missing some players and not be as strong as they used to be once, but they are still leading the Saudi league and will probably win the title there, so they are no joke either! Also, like it was already mentioned, Esteghlal was missing a lot of its players too! Players like Ebrahimi, the 2 Hosseini's, Cheshmi, Padovani, Ghaedi, Karimi, Bagheri (fell out after a few minutes). So yeah, even though I agree that this wasn't Al Hilal's strongest side due to some missing players, but the same can also be said about Esteghlal (not only this game but throughout the season).

Oh and btw let me add that if this stupid and annoying korkori and low blows that are supposedly put as "jokes" (and believe me I see through them) keeps on going in different threads that have nothing to do with Kori and/or the 2 Tehrani sides (like bringing korkori to TM threads f.e.), measures will be taken and warnings/bans will be issued. I have enough of people hijacking threads with these childish arguements.

Let this be a friendly warning. This of course goes out to both sides.

If you are referring to me, I have used the-AFC.com stats. I didn't make my own stats. Please be a little fair.

Imagine Esteghlal vs Perspolis in a 2 legged semifinals with the winner going to the AFC Finals. The crowds at Azadi would be epic

This is Tabrizi's 4th goal, why is this commentator saying it's his 6th?

Prior to the goal, Hosseini had a beautiful and ferocious free kick from top of the 18 yard box that ricocheted off the crossbar.

Tabrizi is a beast. Too bad we already have too many good forwards in TM. Had he been around during Afshin Ghotbi era, HE would be our starting Forward for TM.

Mazarehi has been real good so far for Zob. Him and Hosseini (Esteghlal) have been excellent goalkeepers this season thus far.

Remember, a tie or win secures Zob's advancement into quarter finals.
