Yes Al Hilal is very weak. Has nothing to do with Esteghlal beating them.

they got 2 points in the hardest group by far.. all four teams were seen as potential champions, this group also has the most ACLs

Esteghlal did great topping this difficult group but Al Hilal were a joke in this group. Not even close to resembling to a typical Al Hilal team

Perspolis plays Al Jazira (UAE) in knockout stage.

That's not certain yet. If Al Jazira beats Al Ahli by 1-0 at home, or by 2 or more goals difference, they will top the group and PP will still have to face Al Ahli. I don't see Al Ahli losing though.

Anyway congrats to all Iranians for the 2 wins today and both Esteghlal and Perspolis topping their groups in front of all these Arab teams. No-one really expected Esteghlal to top the group of death with relatively quite ease, so props to the team and Shaeffer in particular.
