Good news is that the two supposed strongest teams, Al Ain and Al Duhail, will be playing against each other in the knockout.
There is a great chance this year for an Iranian team to make the final this year with Al Hilal out as well

Japanese teams played mostly reserve teams apparently in this round.
        They don't give a f***.
        Respect.

More like they don't care about the tournament and don't respect it. Their national team is going to its 6th consecutive World Cup and has hosted one, while China can't do much except spend tons of money on foreign players who don't want to try.

Take a look at the timing of the next round of ACL and you find out.

              Persepolis vs Zobahan April 22
              Esteghlal vs Peykan April 22
              Persepolis vs Sepidrud April 27
              Esteghlal vs Sepahan April 27
              Zobahan vs Naft April 27
Esteghlal vs Kh2Kh May 2 Hazfi final
Al Jazeera vs Persepolis May 7 (In uae)
              Esteghlal vs Zobahan May 8
Persepolis vs Al Jazeera May 14
              Zobahan vs Esteghlal May 15
Iran vs Uzbekistan May 18 (Iran)
Iran vs Turkey May 28 (Turkey)
Iran vs Greece June 2 (Greece)
Iran vs Lithuania June 8 (Russia)
Iran vs Morocco June 15 (Russia)
              Iran vs Spain June 20
              Iran vs Portugal June 25

Now I know why Syrian match was canceled. All players of Persepolis, Esteghlal and Zobahan will lose fatigue and might get injured in process for so many important matches in a short period of time.

They have been like this for past 2 or 3 years. And this year even Saudis won't give a ...

Australia, Japan, Korea, and Saudi Arabia are fixed on World Cup and it is reasonable to not see any serious competition this year. Only teams from China, UAE, Qatar and Thailand might give two cents for that. We Iranians should have followed the rest of big 4 examples. But at the end of the day if we give up ACL and come back home from WC with 0 point is even more painful.

That dribble and pass from Mohammad Reza Hosseini, really underrated player IMO. Was also one of the best in the league this year

This ties into a theory I think a few of us have.

Most of the elite domestic Iranian players are at the same level ± 10%.
What makes a differene though is some of them are much more consistent than others, especially at an international level. Their highs are high and their lows are really low.

Its why guys like Ebrahimi, Taremi, Amiri, Esfahani Karimi and the like are consistently invited to TM. There may be a player who one week does great (such as Hosseini) but generally you know what you're getting from them and they will carry out the tactical commands as efficiently and mistake free as possible.

Great goal by Taremi and hockey assist.

The AFC Champions League is just a farce. It will never reach the quality of the UCL.

except for AcL and TM I frankly do not see any important game

The reason why Japanese teams don’t care is because the prize money for ACL isn’t much higher than for winning the domestic league. Plus, teams incur a high cost for flights, accommodation etc, so it makes no sense to risk their best players for a tournament that they don’t benefit much from winning.
It’s smart, but still a mockery of the ACL spirit. They won’t be punished for it though because the Japanese federation has a good reputation.
