Hey everyone.

Been here for a long time but this will be my first ever post.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I did not want to go through 44 pages.

A group of 10 of us have booked our flights to Russia from Canada. I have both an Iranian passport and a Canadian passport. We are travelling with our Canadian passport. We just entered into the draw for the first two games using our Iranian passport. My question is, does anyone know if that'll be an issue for registering your Fan ID?

I know on their website it says that you are not required to use the same ID you used to purchase the tickets as the one you register with for Fan ID. But has anyone been able to verify this? For example, I am looking to register the Fan ID with my Canadian passport as obviously the Visa would be tied to that. Does anyone see an issue with purchasing tickets with Iranian passport and registering Fan ID with another passport?

I appreciate the help in advance.

you can leave Canada with canadian passport, but when your in russia you must show the iranian passport, since your ticket is under iranian passport, if you got your ticket under iranian passport, you must get your fan ID via iranian passport, the fan ID is your visa basically.

ok, just an update for all those concerned.
i have applied for a ticket through FIFA! finally! i must have pressed something the first time round that made me think i couldnt apply for tickets being a dual national.
just a teeeeeney little question for you all tho.....
im half iranian, half english, i was not allowed to put my nationality as english and still get an iran ticket.
so i had to put my nationality as iranian, even tho i dont have an iranian passport.
the russian authorities arnt going to ask to see an iranian passport off me are they? to get into the stadium

there'll be plenty of us on the same boat, so i doubt the russians authorities care...!?
besides nationality is different from residency anyways..?

nationality is different from residency, however, the russians may say 'you have classed your nationality as iranian, but no where on your British passport does it say you are even the slightest bit iranian'
so i could just be a random english fan, coming to the stadium to cause trouble.

well, i wouldnt put anything passed those sneeky, scandalous russians but then again if it comes to that you explain the situation and throw these fkers a few $$s and im sure they'll pass you through..!!
besides in essence, they can not deny folks tickets to any game, because of their nationalities ..!!?

What about the Fan ID though? Are you registering that under your American Passport? Since that'll essentially be your visa. Is the ticket info not linked to the Fan ID?

waiting on confirmation of tickets before i can proceed to apply for Fan ID.... i guess i'll be filling the fan ID app with info from my USA Passport..!
i'd assume at the stadium gates they'll only be checking your ticket against your Name and Picture on the Fan ID and nothing more...?
my guess is that the Russians are doing all these Fan ID and other security Shenanigans mostly to prevent from BlackMarkets chipping away from their WC Profits ..! and off course they'll excuse it under the SECURITY concerns and other bs...!!
so long you buy your ticket from FIFA where they can be assured of their piece of pie from the ticket sales, they'll be ok with other minor discrepancies..??

perhaps we should contact FIFA with them and a have them suggest a pathway forward for all of us in the same boat ..!!

your flights and entry into Russia are a completely separate matter.... and mostly subject to Russian immigration matters..!!

further reason why you should fill the FAN ID With your info as a Canadian resident and passport holder..! cause that Fan ID supposedly doubles as your VISA into Russia as well..!

True. It's hard to say with certainty. They have a number on the Fan ID website to call. But I haven't been able to find time to call them during the day while I work. We have less than a week to find out! I will try to see if I can call them and if I get an answer I'll post here. Anyone else having this issue give it a try as well!

But I guess the main thing is we have to at least get the ticket first. That'll make all this much easier not having to apply for a Visa.

You will qualify as a Recognised Supporter of a team if you satisfy one or more of the following criteria:
1. Nationality of the respective country of the team;
2. Residence of the respective country of the team;
3. Membership of the official supporter club of the team (if applicable).
A team may define existing membership rules that need to be met by Ticket Applicants in order to be considered as a Recognised Supporter of that team. For more information, please visit the FAQs section.

17.Who can apply for Supporter Tickets and Conditional Supporter Tickets?
An individual can apply for Supporter Tickets and Conditional Supporter Tickets with respect to a PMA if the individual is a supporter of the relevant PMA (so-called “PMA Supporter”). An individual will qualify as a PMA Supporter if such individual satisfies one or more of the following criteria:

(i) nationality of the respective country of the PMA

(ii) residence of the respective country of the PMA; and/or

(iii) membership of the official PMA Supporters club.

In order to recognise the establishment of Fan clubs by the PMAs, the PMAs may request from FIFA the implementation of their own PMA Fan Club restrictions, allowing the application exclusively to those PMA Supporters registered within the PMA Fan club. In such case, an individual can apply for Supporter Tickets and Conditional Supporter Tickets if the individual qualifies as a Recognised Supporter of such Participating Member Association (PMA). In the cases where a PMA implemented the Fan Club restrictions, an individual is a Recognised Supporter if such individual has the Membership of the official PMA Supporters Club.

A PMA may define existing membership rules that need to be met by Ticket Applicants in order to be considered as a Recognised Supporter of that PMA.

• The Football Association Ltd (“FA”)
