A weak italian side is better than every single team we played in qualification.
plus with the Uefa 2 team rule, if England gets Denmark, it means their pot 1 team was Brazil or Argentina. Talk about a brutal group! - I know the article isn't referring to that but agreed, Denmark is good and an England group with Denmark spells their potential doom.
With the other teams? I agree I think Iran currently is better than others but people will underestimate us because of our past world cup results. They'll look at the Iran Argentina game and go - even at their best they finally broke down to a moment of magic.

Although the koreans were massive cheaters and benefited from really bad refereeing that world cup. The reality is that until we win some matches at the world cup and advance into the knockout stages no one will give us respect.
That's a good start but it isn't enough. We need more players in best league/best clubs in Europe to gain more respect. SK and Japan have the like of Kagawa, Son as flagholder in Europe and dozen of others in smaller clubs.

In reality we haven't done anything at the world stage to warrant attention. Going undefeated in Asia, arguably the 2nd weakest confederation, does not mean much to the world. Sure, last time we saw defeat was against Sweden 2 years ago but since then we have only played Asian and 2nd or 3rd tiered world teams, not something to start singing our laurels on.

Some of us make it sound that making the round of 16 is guaranteed with this team, well it is not. If we do make the round of 16 at the world cup it will be a major achievement and an upset, however not making it out of the group stage will be more the norm and the world will go with the norm. We as TM fans hope and wish for the ascension of TM out of the group but it doesn't mean all the others see it the same, and, in my opinion, we haven't put forth concrete evidence so far to prove them wrong.

Hopefully they all think that we are an easy win for them. Thats what we want them to think

Problem is.....Queiroz made "us"...the fans feel to comfortable. He created a rock solid Team that can without a doubt cross swords with ANY Team in the World Cup and on a good day even beat any of them....seriously they can.
BUT if you have followed World Soccer in the last let say 8 years....you have to admit theres no "Underdog" anymore. Iceland/Chile/Sweden.....list goes on and on......Everything is possible on World Cup Stage.
Nevertheless our expectations regarding TM are...HIGH....and thats for good reason.
TM worked hard since last World Cup and from what we saw throughout the whole WCQ Campaign and the friendlies....is promising.
Theres still teams that fit our style better and some less.....anyway.....i dont care about who we get in our group....I want TM to shine! Shall it be England....Germany...or Brazil.....Carloz will be prepared.

We have always been the underdogs and will be the same at the World Cup.

I hope that England will be solved in our group then I want to see their asses bleed.

Do the English fans know that if they were to face the Iran from 2014, some critics argue that they would struggle more than Argentina did?

And now, with the progression that fans have seen with Team Melli in the last 3-4 years. With the high motivation that they have to qualify out of their group. The English still believe that Iran will be easy for them to defeat?

Look, I know that we're not a 5 star team. But man, are the English oblivious or what? Good speed!

England is the only team that has had a player poop on the field during a World Cup match.

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

What makes me nervous is that evident in the friendlies we are moving away from the compact defensive football. Teams with quality can really punish us if we play attacking football. We are much better than 4 years ago I agree, but we played 11 behind a ball in the cup and that made it difficult for Argentina until we slowly pushed forward. Now we dont play 11 back which opens us up. Hoping for the best.

I get what you're saying and where you're coming from. It is true that we have moved away from defensive football. However, that doesn't mean we won't be able to implement defensive tactics again as we did 4 years ago.

Carlos Queiroz will have a plan for every single group match. If we have to park the bus and counter-attack in front of England, then we will. The goal is to make it out of our group and we will do anything and everything to do so.

England are garbage, I'd be so happy to have them in our group.

Rememeber how everyone said RIP Costa Rica after they were groups with Uruguay, Italy and England in 2014? they topped the group !!

Don't fear the names....I know personally TM will struggle against team with high technical and individual skills
(one vs. one dribbling) such as Brazil, Spain, or Germany......but likes of England? we are more than a match.

My ideal TM group is: Russia, England, Iran, Panama.....whereas my biggest fear is: Brazil, Spain, Iran, Nigeria

I still remember this. They got an "easy" group in 2010 yet they almost failed to get out of the group stage.
