Guys to be honest we are one of the weakest teams in pot 3. So i do not blame them for wanting Iran in their group. Just how we want to be grouped with Russia, Peru, and Panama.

Yeah, but on the other hand if you look at the poll there, out of all the pot 3 teams Iran (with 20%) has the most votes in terms of the most prefered team to draw.

But that is based on ordinary people's votes, not on "experts".

That poll result is strange. Spain is the third most wanted team from the pot 2.

Officials at the FFI could not be reached for comment. Iran, without a head coach since July, have been seeking to pick an Iranian after attempts to secure Javier Clemente fell through because the Spaniard refused to live in Iran. An attempt to woo Portuguese coach Artur Jorge was also unsuccessful. Iran made a disappointing start to their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Syria.
