Were planning on basing ourselves in Moscow and travelling to each city and staying for a night.
Moscow is in the middle of all three cities.
Moscow - St petersburg: 633km 1.5H flight 3.5H train
Moscow - kazan: 715km 1.5H flight 12H train
Moscow - saransk: 512km 1H flight 9.5H train
