which forward should be left out of the final squad

Trust me, TWO out of the three you mention will be left out.

CQ takes 3 forwards for these tournaments, which makes sense based on the tempo that the defenders and midfielders have to play at.

In 2014 he took Dejagah (as a forward), Gucci, Ansarifard.

Now he is going to take Azmoun, Taremi, and one other out of Kaveh/Ansarifard/Gucci.

Mark my words that he will cut two out of the latter which will be VERY tough choices. At the moment I would take Kaveh but it is so tough to choose.

Oh man that's be so heartbreaking for CQ and pretty much all of us. Especially to let go of someone like Reza Gh. or even Karim. But a coach gotta do what he's gotta do!

None of them, our attackers are all four pretty fine and unique. i d rather cut some like torabi, ali karimi or aghaei et al.

ok taremi is not a forward, he score goal but he is not a box forward, while this 4 are, we cant take only 2 what if one of them get injured, hence we need 3 forwards, just in case we can bring one less midfield, cause kaveh can play win and karim also, but gucci and azmoun are box forwards, i think we should take kaveh,gucci and azmoun. but if its too hard, take all 4 but reality is you need experience forwards who were in world cup and we only have 1 and is gucci and he scored. so not taking him is wrong. azmoun is scoring goals for tm but for club he has scored zero while gucci has scored a few, and kaveh and karim have score we just have to wait and see but i feel karim wont make it

Taremi is essentially a forward for TM he plays as support striker for Azmoun.

Based on what CQ does in tournaments with smaller teams (Iran, S Africa) he is likely again to take either 3 or 4 forwards with 1 being an SS like Taremi.

All I'm saying is don't be too surprised if only 1 of Gucci, Karim and Kaveh are picked, even if all 3 are playing fantastically.

When was the last time any of these folks scored a goal for the national team? If I were CQ I would leave all three of them out and instead invite the top unfancied but motivated IPL talent. At least with them you have the element of surprise.

It's a real tough call TBH. I feel for CQ man, such a hard task. But if I had to make the call today, despite his startling recent display with his club, I have cross out Kaveh Rezaei. Although it's too soon, and we have to wait till a few months prior to the WC and see whose performance and overall condition overpowers the other 2.

Shouldn’t feel sorry for CQ. It’s his job to make these calls. He is one of the best paid National team coaches in the world.

He said that his goal for TM is to reach the knock out stages of the World Cup. He needs to take attackers that can help him reach this goal.

And if he fails to reach his goal, we will rightly criticise him.
