i personally don't think CQ is going anywhere. He has the best situation in Iran. No where else in the world does he have so much love and respect. If anything he will bring down to Iran. If one thing history has taught us is when you go Persian their's no better version.

what does age have to do with anything ?? lmao, pathetic argument. Most great NT coaches are/were old (top ones), tavares, del bosque, Hitzfield, Fatih Terim. And currently in Iran we are experiencing a global football rarity, one NT coach for many years, uninterrupted. This means players, coaching staff, etc are at ease with his systems and ideas, and are in a good position to carry out his visions. A new coach would need years to get his ideas across, given the nature of international football ( one gave every few months). And given we cant get a coach with even 1/10th of the cv of CQ, why even bother? Plus, if his age was even a factor, which it isnt, NT football is far less demanding than club football on coaches in terms of daily training, travel, etc.
If somebody can honestly provide a better option than CQ i will be damned

They should build the next tallest tower in Iran in the shape of a CQ Statue holding a big sign saying: "PP > SS"!CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php
Don't Select Players That Suit Your Tactics; Select A Tactic That Suits Your Players !!!

The poll asks if CQ should stay until 2022 (a full extra 4 years). There needs to be a third choice that says "It depends."
I think any coach in charge for 7 years should have collected some silverware but Iran has not won anything under CQ. My impression is that he ought to be a lot more diligent and enthusiastic about the job he's been doing.
Also the qualification in Asia is a joke by the international standards. Just consider that no team from Asia has ever finished in even a 3rd place in the history of the world cup.
All in all, I like the sort of assessment by "The" earlier in this thread. Keep CQ until AC 2019, IF there is a stellar performance in the World Cup.
However I think barring serious planning, we will see Team Melli leave the tournament after 270 minutes with just 1 point. Much in line with both the 2006 and 2014 outcomes. If you like to achieve a noble goal, then give it 1000% of your effort and dedication.
Iranian people have the potential to become a lot more than they have been in any aspect of life, including the sports. But unfortunately they have been shackled to the ground by forces that fit a 12th century society far better than a 21st century.

But using Conte´s example in Chelsea as a reference point is wrong in my opinion. There are always exceptions to the rule... We ought to have a more nuanced review of what CQ has achieved in Iran. Yes, he didn't succeed in bringing in silverware in AC2015 but that had in large to do with the fact that our team was victim of an obvious referring mistake. At that point, small mistakes can change the fortunes of any team and tip the balance of the game in the other direction cause all the teams are so close to each other in terms of strength. I am sure Iran would have been a finalist in AC2015 if all the wrongdoing didn't take place by the Australian referee in the quarterfinal.
I think this world cup is going to be a good opportunity to judge CQ´s work but we have to bear in mind that expecting Iran to advance from this group of death in order to give CQ the thumbs up is unreasonable. We must expect a nice showing from Iran in the first place and then if we somehow also manage to qualify for the next round, it would be the icing on the cake. I still believe that there is much more Iranian football can learn form CQ and I see him as the best chance we have to win the AC2019 and do well in the coming WC2018. On the other hand, if things work out and he stays another 4 years, I would say after 2022 would be a good time for TM to have another manager who is younger, well-educated, talented and hungry for success.sigpic

Sorry but I do not want that guy even near TM again. He had his chance and he muffed it. Oceano da Cruz would be the ideal choice since he has been with CQ since almost the beginning.
